I imagine the water at Elliot Falls would have tasted funny from all the Fruit Bat Shit?

Guys....
Just got back ourselves from our Cape York Trip as well.... managed to run into the boys at the Weipa Caravan Park and had time to have a chat with Dan & the boys. Dan gave us some good info on what to expect, but like most things, conditions can change from day to day, especially with the amount of people that travel to the Cape every year. One thing I can say is that I was VERY disappointed to see the condition of the camping spots at the various creeks along the OTL Track. Toilet paper lying every where and used nappies as well..... I can't see why people continue to do this and leave it in such a poor state. The end result will probably be that its all closed to public access.....
I'll put up a separate trip report of our experiences, but it was one of highs and lows with the mate I was travelling with breaking 2 CV's + a front LHS axle and then on the way home a seized Front RHS wheel bearing on his 80's. For us the Prado performed great but we did not escape w/o any problems as our Alternator Failed and we were left swapping batteries between cars all the way back to Mossman to get it repaired.... Amazing how much these D4D engines draw in in current (even with no A/C or music or fans running)
cheers....
