Nice,
I suspect loyalty beach might want a booking but the roadhouses are all basically just a big paddock and they can take as many as they like. It's basically first in gets closest to the 'facilities' (and by facilities I mean bar cos the dunnies won't be flash). We do intend to call loyalty beach as well as the roadhouses to confirm though, just need to find time. Hopefully next week.
Awesome, cheers for that Dan
Ill skip the fishing charter and just cast a line or 2 from the banks every chance we get, i know a few good spots around Weipa because i just got back 3weeks ago from doing a months work on the rail lines for Rio Tinto "realy hope the humidity has fallen by the time we get up there"
If anyone needs my contact details just send me a message and ill flick it to you
I will send my details to you Tiny, just incase you need to make contact for any reason
Sorry Dan, can't make it to that one. I have a joeys camp this weekend. Had planned one the following weekend till someone pointed out that was Mother's Day. Maybe the weekend after.
I'll be travelling from Cape Melville back towards the south when you guys are on the way up. It appears at this stage we will be travelling from Twelve Mile towards Cooktown on the 28th along Battle Camp Road. Will have to keep a look out for you guys.

No worries, if you see us holler out and well probably stop for a break and say g'day. Haven't really decided yet but we'll probably be on Chanel 16
Not quite 95%, but getting there. Rear drawers and fridge are finished, second spare wheel carrier built, awning lights wired up, gearbox and transfer breathers extended, new bullbar and recovery points on and the winch is bolted up. Next week I'll be finishing the winch, and if all the parts arrive, fitting airbags and solar panels. Still need to organise a water tank/bladder, rear recovery points, maybe a third battery then when I get to Townsville there will be new tyres and a minor service.
I am 95% there now, gave the Prado a good run on Sunday and it performed well with new tyres and lift, didnt get to test the winch though.
I am guessing everyone has rated recovery points on their vehicles, front and rear?
Wouldn't want anyone getting into a tricky situation and not being able to help them out.
Hey Dan, almost there. Still need to take the back seats out and build a false floor to put the drawers on, attach the new awning and figure out some kind of cargo barrier, I booked in to ARB for the breathers as I'm running out of time so I'm just going to pay for them. I'm going camping next weekend to woody head and plan to gave everything ready then. We'll see how I go I guess.
I've got points on the front but will just use a recovery hitch on the rear. I assume most of us will be the same.
Sorry I couldn't get to cityview last Sunday, I'm almost there too. I'm getting my truck into the mechanics next week, new brakes, service the auto, diffs, all new belts & filters etc, throwing in some tough dogs whilst I'm at it, then about two weeks out I'll put on a new set of mickey thompson mtz's and I'm good to go. All the other requirements are done, minus a winch, can't wait to take some time off work and begin this trip.

Wish I could come all the way to the top again. Our trip last year was awesome. I was only watching some videos of the OTT Crossings again last night!
