  • Photography Workshop at Eldee Station

Wanting to brush up on my photography skills, I had heard about a workshop being held prior to the Easter 4wd event out at Eldee Station.

The 4 days workshop is being run by Michael Ellem from Offroadimages (http://www.offroadimages.com.au). Michael's name pops up quite regularly in footnotes to some stunning wildlife, 4wd'ing and scenery photos published in many 4wd mags.

    Camping and meals provided.

I've put my name down for a spot at the workshop and thought to pass on the info to you guys.

Let me know how it goes...
I'm a commercial photographer and have taught photography for the last 13 years through a private college here in Brisbane (no longer teaching but doing workshops when I can fit them in-between jobs).
I haven't met Michael Ellem and am curious to hear how he teaches

What I have found in the past is that photographers tend 'teach' people to do what they do... whereas an 'educator' teaches you photography and all the skills needed to do what you want to do and how you want to do it.
    Cheers, Leon

      Hi Leon

It's lefty here I thonk that there two distinct ares, the first for people that have purchased a DSLR that has adjustability and that would like to know how and when to use these features, secondly is for the people that would like to know more about the theory on composition after they know how to use the camera.

      Regards, Richo.

Hmm this would have been good, I have a DSLR and really not much idea of what I am doing with it, and I have heard good things about Eldee station, add to that Broken Hill is in my neck of the woods (relatively). Unfortunately it clashes with the GTG so maybe next time.

        Cheers Andrew

          Me too Andrew,

I wouldnt mind seeing Eldee one day and am very average with our DLSR.

Perhaps a PP trip later in the year is on the cards...
          Cheers

Sounds like a plan to me!

We have pretty much ruled out any extended trips (over 2 weeks) for the next couple of years so I reckon a few more long weekend trips are on the cards. Us SA guys have been slack as Duck S**T since the GTG, that needs to change.

            Cheers Andrew

Maybe I could run a 'workshop' for you guys at Eldee station to justify the trip the powers at be
              Cheers, Leon
