Very interesting - had lunch today with a bunch of 'old lags' former CAA/CASA pilots, engineers and safety experts. Of couse MH370 was discussed and I think we all came to the conclusion that 1. it is in the southern ocean but 2. no one knows where.

Seriously... the story behind this event is one that beggars belief.

Does anyone have any true idea of what really happened. No communications, no signals, no trace, no sightings, no wreckage.

I guess, when you have removed probable and exhausted the possible, what ever remains, however improbably, just might be the truth.

One look at the barnacles says it's been in the water for a long time. Didn't they find a life-boat suspected of being from HMAS Sydney on some remote beach out that way a couple of years ago?

Easy enough for THEM to procure a Boeing 777 flaperon from one of the aircraft graveyards and fake its discovery. Thus diverting attention from its true resting place on Diego Garcia.

And it looks like THEY chose the right place to put the wreckage... near an active volcano that's about to explode. Prevents too much detailed searching.

I wonder why they didn't see it on the Jindalee OTH radar? If it was flying below commercial limits, and around 2000ft, it should have been detected anywhere north of OZ unless it's gone further west then Jindalee wouldn't see it, same way they couldn't see any of the boats. I reckon it's been shot down by some wayward north Korean fighter jet. Not the first civvy airliner to be shot out of the sky.

My view too Dave only my moneys on the yanks they have a top secret base (diego garcia please google it and see for yourself) quite near where MH 370 went missing and they have done this before to a Iranian passenger jet with some 200 souls on board..................

It's no longer a mystery.

Didn't you see they found a section of the wing 'flaperon' and identified it categorically; and identified the currents that drifted it to Reunion Island could only place the wreckage in the Indian Ocean where the long winded hunt for the plane continues (for now)

We know when and roughly where the plane went down.
