  • Who maakes the sun shades for insde the rear cargo area?

    Hi,
I have seen a few prados with what looks to be rear sunshades on the cargo quarter panels fixed to the inside. Sort of like these silver reflective shades you put inside your windscreen. To keep the sun of the fridge/ cargo etc.
Anyone know where where to get these?
    Cheers
    Robert

Easy for a 120 with pop out windows. Find a friendly builder who can give you a metre of aircell, get yourself a large piece of cardboard and trace the window. Copy to aircell, cut out, open window, fit, close window, job done. Even the missus commented it was cooler in the back with them

Perfect thanks, just what i was looking for. Your better than google!
So I presume you make it a little bigger and use the closed window to hold it in place

Looks like you can only buy it in 8 metre rolls. Will try a few insulation places for offcuts.

I've seen these on Land Cruisers too, not sure if their windows open but I would consider a black version of these for the 150 but it already has privacy glass so not sure if it would make much difference with the rear window being the main contributor. Still would like to know of any other ideas.

No problem, I made mine about an inch bigger all round, don't cut the window opener lever until you fit it. You could get anal and trim the edge but it doesn't get seen so I didn't bother.

I used aircell as that's what I could get my hands on, I am sure any style insulation stuff would probably work too.

I got a set from Solarscreen in QLD very happy with them and helpfull with a issue in fitting. I would recommend them to anybody as a good Ausse made product and old fashion service.

So your missus rides in the back and the dog sits up front? Nice.

These are attached with quality suction cups and come with a zip up storage bag as well.
Keeps the UV of the fridge and prying eyes out also.
I had made my own using a couple of old fold up screens that were quite affective, would have like to use aircell or a foam/foil board but it was only available in bulk.
                  Cheers

                  p.s. Nice neat job D4D

If you want the foil air cell stuff cheap, pay a visit to your local fuel station the day they get their ice deliveries. They wrap the pallets in it. Either ask the servo guy if you can take it as they throw it out anyway. Or just wait till they do garbage it and take as much as you can.
