Do like the slotted discs, do they have cooling fins between the rotors.[I]Cheers Ped

The heat causes all sorts of problems sometimes it causes the brake pad material to break down, it may cause mechanical problems with the braking system and it can also effect the brake fluid. So the key is to prevent heat build up.
Also from what I know of carbon/ceramic discs they actually need heat to work, not sure why but doubt anyone will ever be fitting those to a PradoSteve

Quick update on the slotted T2 rotors and bendix 4x4 pads . Towed the boat on the weekend and was really happy with stopping performance and pedal feel. It just stops a lot better with theses brakes and I'm happy so far . If I experience any vibration or noise in the future I will let you all know[I]Cheers Ped

There were some PPers who thought the Bendix 4wd pads didn't work well when cold so it may be that. I never had a concern. My 150 build - http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread.php?27423-A-Random-approach-to-a-Bluestorm-150-GXL-D4D-automatic

Hi guys
new to the forum
i want to upgrade the rotors of my 150 Turbo diesel. But here in Haiti, this is impossible and they don't sell Prado in the USA.
Do you think it's possible to switch the actual rotors (dimensions: 338 x 28mm) to 150 V6 or Lexus GX460 (338 x 32mm) ?
Even slotted or and drilled rotors are impossible to find here !
thanks for your help

The increased thickness in the rotors will make it difficult to fit the calipers over if they've got new pads fitted.
Also, you'd want to be sure that the rotors were the same dimensions so that the line up properly. Otherwise you might have to offset the caliper mounting position

According to the DBA catalog all 150s run the 32 thick disc at the front:
http://www.dba.com.au/wp-content/upl...N2a.pdf#page71
Obviously Australian models, are you sure your discs are 28 thick? My 150 build - http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread.php?27423-A-Random-approach-to-a-Bluestorm-150-GXL-D4D-automatic
