Sam as you are blocking the DRLs does that mean the fogs are now DRLs? I sould have thought that the DRLs would need to remain visible under the ADRs.

Since the Prado now has DRL's (well the upper models anyway) that may be visually obstructed by fitting the bar, just wondering if any consideration has been given to an optional DRL conversion in place of the fog-lights?

BTW, good work on the LED indicators, this has been long overdue and I will definately be ordering a set for my "old" 150.

So i guess the next question is when is the VX and Kaka version coming. Will that cover part of the DRL

The GX and GXL models don't have daytime running lights. The new vertical lights on these models are simply parking lights, which we've relocated to the bar.

Our engineers are currently working on the DRL challenge on the VX and Kakadu. Details will be outlined in the coming release.

I could be mistaken but the facelifted 150 I saw on the road had low beam and parkers on but the rear brake lights were not on. Going by this, IMO, they are DRLs as it is connected/programmed such that it comes on with ignition. If they were parkers (as in clearance lights) then the rear red clearance would come on too.

Also refer to this comment which to me is the definition of what a DRL does...

The single globe is in the same spot as the DRLs but it isn't used as a DRL, as its only a low Watt parking light it probably wouldn't be bright enough to use as a DRL. As I said the GXL turns on low beam as soon as the engine is started, the only way of turning of the headlights is turning the switch to parking lights but when you do this it dims all the dash lights and the LCD screen making it almost impossible to see in the day. So not really an option, you just have to drive around all day with the lights on.

According to the brochure the new bar sits 30mm closer to the body? Good move.
Can the new bar fitted to a pre-facelift 150?

Must be different to a GXL, I just tried mine and with the lights in the off position as soon as the engine starts the rear tail lights come on same as if you you turned the headlights on. In the daytime though they are very hard to tell that they are on.

got a call from ARB today, my MY14 GXL, delivered xmas eve, is due to get its bar (and some other ARB kit...) fitted this w/end.
