Condamine River Overnighter Dads & Lads weekend September 2013

Have not posted for a while but here is the first of a few trip reports from last year.

We decided to do the Condamine and overnight on the track with 3 cars, Prado, BT50 & Disco we left late with the plan to get a few crossings under our belt and then pull up on the track to overnight.

My sons are 8 and 6 my mates son 6.

As a father and a member of the law enforcement community I regularly see why having a father in a family is important.

I have found because I work long and varied hours sometimes I am not around for my sons......

This was our second Dads & Lads and I recommend it to all fathers.......sometimes you are so busy thinking that you are making their life better by earning money when just being with them makes your life and theirs better.

My father was always working and a distant man......an awesome provider......I decided that money and advancement is not important as making sure your sons aren't lost to a questionable future.......
This is not a chest beating exercise for me....its just something that I found out by spending time with them........with simple things like a 4wd and a tent means SO much more.....

where exactly did you go? I know the Condamine river out Condamine way, but am I right in thinking this is a different place?

That's fantastic stuff . . . Condamine was my first river crossing (and then my next 13), and though you may laugh, I was plenty scared the first time I headed into the river

We went out there last Sunday. With no rain recently I had 1 word for it....BORING. The place is lovely but I think a commodore could of done the track if it wasn't for the rocky creek bottoms. The water was no higher than 5 inches, most of it was lower. Also Spring Creek / Head rd is still closed.
