Dropped the Prado off this morning to the mechanic and will be picking it up tomorrow afternoon. It's getting the following done:
    Replacement rear main
Seals for each side of the front diff
    Uni's on the center shafts
    Wheel alignment
Noise from aircon pulley looked at and possibly fixed
Rack ends for each side replaced
    All bushes inspected
    Handbrake adjusted

Getting the Prado back tomorrow afternoon and then I will take it to the other mechanic to complete the RWC.
Will probably take it to the exhaust guy next week and get the center muffler cut out as well to give it a little more sound.

Also going to get new tyres and a RWC performed on the Mazda 6 next week.

Main price is the labour. I think I'm getting charged 5 or 6 hours labour so I'd take a guess at around $500+ to get it done. If you'd like, I'll find out how much it would've cost if I only got that done.

Have just ordered an AMTS Tyre Carrier Spacer + Light Mount Option as well as a PradoPoint sticker for the Prado. Should look nice once my list is complete.

With any luck, I'll be able to do a Cape York trip in a year or 2.

My rear main just got done also, however I was recently due for a new clutch also, so ringing around to local clutch specialists, i got the rear main and new clutch done for $1000, which mind you was $1000 saving versus the local toyota dealers...

Well, all the work got done on the Prado today except the aircon which it'll need to get booked in again for another day. Cost $1360 to get it all done.
Was also advised that the Prado has worn inner-lower control arm bushes so I'll need to get those replaced when the aircon pulley gets looked at.

Fitted the new Bushskinz 4x4 bash plate, AMTS spare tyre spacer and rear light mount, and extended diff breathers on the weekend. Now I'm just waiting on the 6" 18W LED light (for the rear), mount for lightbar for the bullbar, and a couple of car seat organisers to arrive.
I have some sliders here that need to be modified as well so once my mates dad has some free time, I'll be chucking those on.

Ratsack, Looks good mate. Any chance you throw a couple of pic's of your air compressor and tank setup? Something I've been pondering. And the AMTS rear light, where did you get power from???

I've changed the rear storage/drawer setup and now I just need to make sure drawers and wings for the setup.

I've got the air compressor and air tank mounted between the cargo barrier and the rear drawers.

I plan on getting power for the rear light from either the second battery or main battery. Main battery is more permanent so I'm not sure which yet. Also will have a switch near the steering wheel somewhere so I can turn it on and off as I please.

Went out with a couple of mates on the weekend. Nothing special just a nice casual run after a bit of rain we've had.

Got a used Warn Magnum 9K winch last night for $160 ($120 + a carton of XXXX Gold). Pretty happy with that. Just need to find a TJM T15 winch cradle now.

Also went out to snatch my brothers Hilux from a little mud before and did some little cosmetic damage and got it a little dirty

Anyone got suggestions for getting that flare stuck back to the body that's reliable?

                          Thanks mate.
Yeah, I was brought up in Bundy but moved to Roma (QLD) for an apprenticeship and then to Wagga Wagga (NSW) for a year and now I've been back in Bundy for about 6 months to be closer to family for our first child.

Prado is almost to my dream build. Basically just the expensive items left now (sliders, rear bar, and supercharger). I have some sliders/brush bars here from a single cab Hilux that I need to get modified to just sliders but I don't have any experience so I'm basically waiting for mates to have some free time to fix them up for me.

Going camping tonight for the first time with the baby. Also the first time taking the Coleman Instant 8 tent so should be a good night.
Will be packing the Prado shortly.

                            Long time no update...

After busting the rear flare off and putting it back on I decided to remove the stock rear mud flaps and replace them as all they do is collect mud and put more weight/stress on the flares. Below is the result which I'm happy with.

I'm also in the process of changing the driving light setup and getting some more solid side steps/sliders.

Also got a mate to weld a flat piece of metal to a pole so I could finally mount my rear reverse/camping light as below.
If I have time, I'll be mounting it all up tomorrow.

I ended up finally finishing the drawers (as in, mounting the slides) but upon inspection today it looks like the slides were quite strong enough so I'll have to look into a way to fix that up.

Have some rubber left over from the mud flaps and bought some little square piece of carpet from Bunnings today so plan on covering the centre cooler mount at some stage.

Also getting some steel GU Patrol rims tomorrow for a slighter wider offset and also because one of my stock GXL alloys looks like it might be slightly buckled from a pothole I hit.

And have ordered a K&N air filter from Ebay so waiting for that to arrive.
Can't wait because this last full load of fuel I have got less than 600km out of (this is from ~150L). I haven't changed the air filter in a long time so it's definitely well overdue and I've already replaced the MAF sensor.

Still haven't mounted the winch or setup the second battery under the bonnet but they will come once I have money.

I'll leave a video here of the place we normally end up going 4WD'ing as it's so close yet fun.

Have fitted the rear light so now I need to run the cable to the front so I can hook it up to a switch.

I bought some decent hinges when I last went to Bunnings so I plan on joining the "wings" for the drawers next time they're out. Need to go back to Bunnings to get another slide as I believe the last one that failed may have been a once-off.
When the drawers are next out I plan on fitting a air compressor cut-off to the air tank/compressor (turns on at 70PSI - off at 105PSI) as the compressor and tank is connected to the back of the drawers so they don't bounce around.

Ordered some shorter wheel nuts as the stock ones look silly with the Patrol rims. These have arrived last week so I'll probably change those over one afternoon this week.

Hooked up the 13.5" LED light bar to the bullbar about 2 weeks ago as well. Looks nice.

Just ordered a battery hold-down clamp and plan on making my own tray to fit this to for a second battery under the bonnet.
Also just ordered a winch mount that I'll need to modify and then fit to the Prado so I can finally fit my winch.

Around 4 weeks ago I ended up going out with my brother and another mate. Probably the hardest I've ever driven the poor Prado. Spent around 1/3 of the night on limiter because of the mud and only having all-terrains. Ended up ripping the flare off completely this time. I have since put it back on with screws - it definitely won't come off again. I reckon it's stronger than it was from factory.

Prado should be going in one day this week to get one of the front diff seals replaced under warranty for a second time. I have a feeling it may be related to the diff breather so I'm going to get the mechanic to put a new hose from the diff to the breather and see how it goes.

I gave it a good wash on the weekend and plan to keep it clean for a bit until I get the steps/sliders, dual battery, and winch all fitted up.
