      Well Mr. Google has brought up that Toyota is looking at Cummins for their NA Tundra Truck (Full sized UTE - about the same size as a F-150).

        Cummins engines are in the Chinese brand Foton trucks, newish to Aus. Anyone heard anything about them?

          What Cummins or Foton?

          Used to run the 6 cylinder 275 HP ones in SnowCats that I operated. Different use though, as they just ran hydrostatic pumps.

            Cummin's Diesels have been powering Dodge Pick ups since 1989 and their new V8 will be powering the Nissan Titan in the US.

            Don't know about Foton's themselves. But it was probably cheaper to buy the engine than develop their own

                      Yeh. One too many trips home on the back of a flatbed. Changed to a Turbo Diesel 100 series which thus far it proving to be more robust. And with three kids under three the extra room is handy.

                        Good choice, great direct injection engine. We have a two and four year old so I know what you mean about extra space.

                          I'm told (by a Cummins mechanic) that the engines are being built under license in China , so the first time a Cummins employee sees them is when they have a warranty issue that needs fixing.

                          I'm starting to wonder if the Cummins ISX EGR in the truck I drive for a living was built in China too......
