Congrats on a great site. Have got heaps of great ideas from lookin through all your posts so I thought I'd contribute and add where I mounted a spotlight to the rear of the prado. Great for reversing in the bush and the macca's car park . Didn't want to invest in a kaymar rear wheel spacer with the light pole just yet so came up with the idea of fitting it to the top of the rear number plate holder
I just removed the rear door trim to access the back of the housing and removed it (There is a detailed how to on how to do this on the lcool website http://http://www.lcool.org/technica...ra/camera.html)
To mount the light i drilled a hole above the no. plate light and in a piece of checkerplate id cut to fit inside the housing for a bit of extra strength bolted it on, ran the wires through the door to a switch on the dash and presto 3500 lumens of light sitting on my rear door.
When putting it back together i also replaced 2 of the plastic locater lugs with nuts and bolts so the whole section with the light mounted on is held on with 5 bolts.
I'm happy to provide more detailed info if anyone needs it, hope this is helpful to someone
