    So thought I'd try this out after reading the above.

    Was going well but sheared off 2 of the 6 retaining bolts while removing

    Pulled it and realised someone had already done it for me!

    So the resulting cost;

      Doh!!
      Same happened on mine but I just put it back on and it was ok. Eventually I replaced the entire exhaust/mufflers, but found that to be a waste of money. Better to just weld it back up if need be.

        I replaced the same sway-bar rubbers with poly inserts earlier this year - made a big difference straight away and a pretty easy job as well.

        But the biggest improvement with new poly inserts - was to the steering. The big rubber insert which sits in the steering rack was badly perished on our rig - a new insert has made the steering feel practically brand-new. Its definitely worth looking at upgrading the steering rack bushes as well as the suspension bushes if you are thinking about this job.

            My steering rack bush is in great shape... But since I get nolathane at wholesale.... Perhaps I might?

            Baders, thanks mate. Appreciated.

            Mrkrinkle.... You don't need those apart parts anyway. Just forget they exist and back away slowly. Lol

              Also..m based upon things I'm seeing with this rig... I think its time to put her on Tue four gas analyzer and see what it shows out the tail pipe. At least then I'll get a truer picture of what's going on.

                Well as per usual... I attempt to do one little thing... All I wanted to do was clean the MAF as I forgot to do it last oil change...

                Well, its now 1am and I have half the intake manifold off. Scrubbing every little bit of carbon I can find. I've got the dremel out and getting rid of all the casting marks. Tried out my port polishing skills on the idle speed control valve. Now have the smoothest air flow in the east for my idle haha... Another half dozen bolts and I'll be at the dreaded knock sensor wiring that likes to breakdown its insulation. From there I'm six bolts away from redoing the coolant crossover gasket (silicone)

                Why do I do this to myself. Camera handy, photos being taken.

                  I'm interested in seeing these photos. Cleaning out the intake manifold is a job that I've been reading up on over the last couple of weeks.

                      Yeah, my bad. I misread it and was thinking of cleaning the throttle body out once the intercooler is removed.

                        I am a certified mad man. I put the last bolt back into the car at 7am this morning. Showered and went to work. Coffee and red bull are my friend. Haha.

                        Plenty of photos of various things. All on my phone. I'll eventually upload them and do a bit of a photo dump.

                            I'm an auto accessories fitter. Some of the medication I'm on act as a bloody stimulant. Which is a really odd feeling as physically... I'm buggered. Mentally, very alert and sharp.
