Have come across a 2008 Prado GXL Petrol good service history but Owner lives on the Gold Coast near broadbeach. On inspection there appeared to be a lot of surface rust under the chassis and on nuts/bolts, the owner swears that he has not done any beachwork and that the corrosion is only surface rust from the salty coastal spray in the air.
Having never lived anywhere remotely coastal does anyone have experience from rust caused by living in a coastal area? And would you even consider buying this car? The owner is prepared to discount because of this but I am unsure if I should be concerned with this rust that appears superficial but I have no way of knowing this.
