A couple of pictures of the rear bar set up with 2 wheels.

There is enough room between the tyres to go to a 33" tyre.

And this is all you can see of the tyre in the rear view mirror, not very much at all.

        Cheers Andrew

I have had someone else ask the same question, not sure why! I can open them on my laptop or the Ipad and Iphone and view the full size image. What system are you running?

              Looking good Andrew.

Regarding the model you have shown, is the jerry can holder easy to get on and off the bar?

Pretty easy, just like taking off a trailer hub, which is basically what it is. Take off the grease cap, remove the split pin and undo the castle nut, should just slip off then. Probably it would take long to get the tools out and put them away then to actually do the job.

                Cheers Andrew

                    Hi Andrew

Are any modifications needed to the car, apart from obviously cutting the rear bar? Does another bracket need to be welded to the car? (I remember reading somewhere about that in the build thread).

Can you supply it powder coated black? I was thinking instead of colour coding, having it black, might go well with sliders, rood racks, bull bar etc?

Are these hard to fit? Would it be best to get it fitted professionally, or can it be worked out by someone with not a lot of experience in this sort of stuff?

And will it come with everything required to fit it? And if we wanted to, we could get both the LHS wheel carrier & the jerry can holder I'm guessing?
                    Cheers, Damo

There are a couple of brackets to weld on, these are not 100% needed but highly recommended that you weld them on, pretty easy spot to weld but you need that ability.

They will come standard powder coated in Satin Black the same as my sliders.

Apart from welding on the brackets there are a couple of spots you may need to touch up with a grinder, just taking some high spots of a few welds which is pretty straight forward. Obviously you need to cut the bumper bar and flares, which can be done with a sharp knife but I used an angle grinder for that as well. other than that its a few bolts and some wiring. Probably the hardest part will be handling the bar, a mate would come in real handy here.

If you wanted a jerry can holder and a wheel carrier for the LHS that can be done. I haven't broken down the prices yet but will do that when and if I need to.

The lights are all supplied but not a wiring loom to connect them all, so a few plugs and a bit of wiring may be needed. Also the rubber pinch weld and mudflaps are not supplied. Pinch weld I only buy retail from Clarks or somewhere like that, Mudflaps I used some insertion rubber but I am sure there are better options out there and those in cities with access to good auto stores will no doubt find better options, or again I am just buying the rubber at country retail prices so likely dearer than others could purchase.

                      Cheers Andrew

Thanks for the reply Andrew. I cant weld to save myself, but I have a mate who is a fitter, he is pretty handy with the welder. And good to hear it can be left black, although I'll probably colourcode it.

Any idea of an ETA on these? I've had a look at a couple of bars around, and this definitely seems to be the best design, I'm a big fan of the reversible mount, so that the tyre lines up with the cutout. I mainly want a bar to carry two spares, (the roof is too high and the tyre is too damn high to carry one up there), but I wont be running two tyres round town. I'm guessing you'll be making these on a case by case basis?
                        Cheers, Damo

I have started making a batch of 4 bars, one of them is spoken for and hopefully that goes to the powder coaters soon. But yes I will be waiting until I have an order to finish these as I need to know what combination of swing arms customers want.

These should be available with 2 weeks of someone ordering one.

                          Cheers Andrew

So a few people have been asking me for pictures of the rear bar set up with twin wheel and what it looks like, so here it is.

There is enough room between the tyres to go to a 33" tyre if I anyone wants to go down that path.

And this is all you can see of the tyre in the rear view mirror, not very much at all.
