  • I was going through this thread upgrading the pictures and also just reliving the trip through my report when I realised I was going to add some video. In the spirit of better late than never I got all carried away and have signed up for youtube and worked out how to edit my first ever video.

All the video was shot just using the IPhone, took the GoPro but unfortunately someone (who shall not be named) had decided to use the SD card for other things and had left it in her computer at home

Anyway just a brief glimpse of some of our off road adventures on this trip, hope you enjoy.

    Cheers Andrew

I'm not a big one for listening to music at the best of times, but rarely ever turn it on when on the dirt, usually too many other interesting things going on to worry about music.

              • great video on the different areas you and Trish travelled at, on our recent trip coming home we had a CD Van Halen on and then when Helga ask what else to play I went for more Van Halen, I just could not listen to anything else, great travelling music

Glad You did, we travelled 11000k on that trip, 5000k of that on the dirt.

The Clips start with us heading into the APY lands from the Olgas, through the APY lands, Gunbarrel Highway, Talawana Track, Rudall River NP, Burrup Peninsula, Pilbara in general, Road to Mount Augustus (that's the mount in the background when the roo is on the road) Steep Point (beach drive) Pinnacles and then back across the Old Coach road south of the Nullarbor.

                  Cheers Andrew

                  • Thanks for the video. It shows there's still lots and lots of places to discover - just have to drive a lot as well and nice water crossings
Were there some bush fires on the side of the track?

Actually no, when that footage was taken we didn't know what was going on. However we stopped and talked to the station owners a bit further down the track and they were doing a burn off, I guess to slow down a fire in summer.

Glad you enjoyed it, and yes sooooo much more to explore and discover out there. That video was 7 minutes out of 6 weeks, there was loads of other equally good or better stuff that we just didn't get the chance to video or photograph, particularly some of the deeper flooded sections on the Gunbarrel Highway, we were more worried about actually getting through than recording some of them.

                      Cheers Andrew

                      • I should mention also that despite the fact that you cant see it, the camper trailer was hanging on the back for the vast majority of those clips. The last section into Hanging rock, the bit on the beach and at the Pinnacles it wasn't. Everywhere else including all the water and mud holes it was behind us

                        Cheers Andrew

I think it's about 3 months until our next one as well, but it'll only be a little one for us this time.

If you enjoy the outback half as much as I do you will have a blast!
