Bit more to add here now. Have had the rig dyno tuned at RPW in Osborne Park (see the 90 supercharger thread for more). This uncovered a big error with the map bank table entries, which was causing a big lean out mid range. Had it back to RPW today for further tweaking and I must say, David at RPW offers great service, as he didn't charge me extra for the time today. I highly recommend them to Perth bods.

Now for some good bits. I have ordered a Detroit Tru Trac LSD for the rear after much researching. This will give me increased capability over the POS Toyota LSD as I mainly drive on sand/beach where the wheels do not lift so much. Hoping to get this installed next week. I have also ordered a smaller 2.2" supercharger pulley from URD in the States. RPW will install a water/methanol injection kit to control detonation and I am also going to 2 steps colder spark plugs, which assist with this as well. Overall, she's coming along nicely

I've had the Detroit TruTrac LSD installed but yet to test it out. The 2.2 inch supercharger pulley has arrived and I've ordered an Aquamist water/methanol injection kit. Will get the beast dyno tuned at RPW and will see the comparison before and after. I guess it really doesn't need these mods but you know what it is like Become a bit of a hobby this old truck

Sounds awesome mate. I'm looking forward to hearing about the difference re 2.2 pully.

Have you tried the charger on sand yet? How'd it compare?

Chalk and cheese Glen. The massive low down torque makes all the difference. Where before I had to keep 4000rpm on board just to keep ahead of the soft stuff, now I just pull away from idle.

I've just begun the install of the Aquamist water meth injection system. I'm going to drive this system by an output from the Xede ECU. The Aquamist is quality stuff, with great backup from Richard, the business owner. He has taken the time to answer a few questions for me in detail. I'll get this system up and running, then install the smaller pulley.

Some pictures of the Aquamist install. This system uses Pulse Width Modulation to activate a fast acting valve. There is an output on the Xede supercharger ECU that can drive it or you can simply wire it across an injector + and -. Haven't decided which I'll do yet.

5L tank with low level float and 160psi constant pressure pump installed in rear side compartment (next to drawers).

Wiring of the HFS2 control module above glove box.

Installation of the Fast Acting Valve into engine bay. Yet to plumb in it and the injector into intake.

Looking good. If it can wire up to the xede I wonder if you can then control it's spray quantity/timing vs rpm/load. Connecting up a laptop and adjusting is fun stuff!

The Xede water spray output is mappable by setting 2 stages of RPM vs MAP. The Aquamist works by creating a set point (pot) to turn on the flow when the set point is reached. It is based on % duty cycle of the injectors. By combining the 2 triggers you can see it is infinitely tunable

Yeah Blake I'm up for that. I work FIFO again now and available every second weekend. Like the photos show, the old girl is in pieces this weekend however. Maybe weekend of the 29th ? Though that date rings a bell with me, must check calendar.

Water methanol system install completed. I decided to go with the standard Aquamist activation method, which has a settable trigger point on injector duty cycle percentage. I've set this to around 30% IDC. Thus the jet activates before mid loads and around 2000rpm, just in time to stop that notorious ping. Of course light loads and the system is dormant. I've yet to put this back on the dyno but I expect some interesting results, judging by the right foot

I also installed the smaller supercharger pulley, 2.2 inch as opposed to the original 2.37 inch and......................whoahhhhh nelly !! I can definitely feel an improvement in power and torque. The improvements I've made has changed the whole nature of this vehicle. It is in diesel V8 territory now as far as towing power and is fantastically drivable.

I also installed an extra fuse box you can see on the first image. This to tidy up the wiring of my driving and hunting spots, plus also fed the water methanol injection pump. Where did the charcoal canister go I hear you say ? What charcoal canister ?

Looking good mate! Will you be keeping the resonator box on the air intake?

Probably Glen, unless I stumble across an easy alternative to blanking the holes. No use going to the aftermarket intakes as they are a waste of time and no gain over the standard set up. I'm about done with the old girl now, and hopefully have another project in the making.............*cough* Bavarian Motor Works M635csi

Appropriatly sized freeze or welch plugs will do the job of plugging the hole in the rubber hose nicely. Use the flat side inwards and a hose clamp to hold them in place on the lip.

The tube is an unusual size but a perfect fitting $5 replacement is waiting for you at a wreckers somewhere... it'll just need some trimming! Look for a Cressida MX83R with 7M-GE engine.
