All good boys, glad you got it sorted! That's what pradopoint is all about. Enzed are pretty damn good thats for sure!

So took the car in for a service today and the front right wheel bearings absolutely had it! Thats why I had a bit of a steering wobble a while back. They are throwing a new hub kit on for me so will be good as new!

    • So managed to score some prado rims off gumtree. I am going to change the hubs on the trailer so it is a 6 stud cruiser pattern (currently TJ Jeep pattern). Some fool painted these rims black and obviously used the wrong paint/prep so its flaking off. But oh well price was cheap so will repaint them black and throw them on the trailer.

I'll keep my eye out for some 265/70/17's and that way they will be fully interchangeable with my prado as well so effectively having a spare on the trailer and spare on the car gives me 2 spares.

Yeah I couldn't say no for the price. I only need three so I am thinking of fixing up the shitty paint job and using one as a spare on my car and three for the trailer, then I'll sell my current spare rim as its in excellent condition. Just need to find some cheap 265/70/17s and I will be set.

I could've potentially sold you my current spare Shane, oh well wasn't meant to be mate!

My fridge runs off an Anderson plug so wanted to install one of them. Also my slides on the left side of my outback roller drawers so that's why I've run it on the left. I used he factory one also and hooked it up to my cranking battery. The new ones installed run from my aux battery. Now the beauty is if one runs flat or plays up I can just connect to the other battery on the other side.

              • Went and had some fun yesterday up at Glass house mountains, good few hours out and the prado went everywhere I asked it to go. Winched out a D22 Navara we came across that was on all sorts of angles, poor bloke was a bit stressed out!

                  • Off to fraser with a group of mates for Easter, camping just before Ngala rocks to get away from the crowds, beautiful part of the world!

got the prado booked in for a 5 wheel rotate before the trip, wanted to rotate the spare into the mix as they have only done about 8000kms before its too late.

                      • OK guys installed a reversing camera yesterday. Bought it on sale from super cheap fro $58 as per link http://catalogue.supercheapauto.com....4y6bhae3n.html

I rigged it up last night, all I can say is im impressed with the quality of the camera and screen for the price. It is a great little unit for the price and allows two camera inputs, so I am going to purchase a second camera off ebay for about $15-$20 and mount one on my bulbar and hook it up to my air locker switch. This way when the locker is engaged I can see in front of my wheels. Should be a good little advantage for off roading.

Anyway here are the pictures of the DIY install

So first step is to open the rear door and pop off the six little plastic covers and remove the six screws, then pop off the cover and wires will be exposed as per below picture.

I used a stanley knife to expose the wires. The reverse wire is the red wire with a bit of black on it and earth is the white wire with a bit of black on it. Splice the wires and solder reverse camera wires onto it.

I then had a look under the car and found a rubber grommet on the drivers side of the vehicle just behind the rear wheel which feeds the trailer wires into the back rear quarter panel. Pop off the inside of the car panels and you will see it. This was difficult for me as I've got rear drawers so could only just pop the top half of the panel off and get my hands in. The feed the wires you have soldered back out through the grommet, using zip ties to feed the wire back to just above the tow bar.

I then drilled a hole and fed the wire through for the reverse camera, checked which way the camera had to be positioned to make sure it was upright and screwed it off the the rear bumper. I will go back and change my screws to black ones so it doesn't stand out so much, this is temporary for now.

Then I began feeding the video wire back to the front of the vehicle via the same grommet the wires came out of. I ran it down the inside of the vehicle back to the front via popping off rear and front foot panels and front right quarter panel as can be seen below

Then you need to tap into either permanent power, reverse wire or accessories to run the monitor. If you are solely installing reversing camera only I would just run an extra wire from where you tapped into the reverse wire at the back of the vehicle to make it easier. However as I will be installing a front camera later I hooked mine up to accessories from behind by cigarette lighter. Then I used the 3M backing tape on the screen to fix it off to my A pillar. I will fix it off with 1-2 small screws later on.

I tucked the cabling down under the rubber around the door frame to the side of the dash so it is all hidden.

Then turn the ignition on, engage reverse and you should have picture

Another good little hint if you have a 120 prado is that I accidentally let the reverse wire earth out so it blew a fuse. I looked everywhere for a reverse light fuse, nothing. So I tested to see if anything else stopped working & also had no indicators. What is weird though is the hazards worked. I couldn't see an indicator fuse so checked all fuses. Sure enough one was blown it was the Ignition 2 fuse under the drivers kick panel inside the cabin. Its a 10amp mini blade fuse. Would never have guessed an ignition fuse would stop the reverse light working but you learn something new every day.

                          Hope this DIY helps someone!

                          • Please note picture is actually nice and clear and surprisingly works really good even in the pitch black of night, really surprised me. It is only a shitty picture in this pic as the phone made it look like this.

                            • That's pretty much where I installed my flush mount camera. Can see the top of the towball which makes it nice and easy to reverse up to the trailer.

Nice pick up at that price.

                              • Installed max trax pins on my roof rack on the weekend, http://www.bcf.com.au/online-store/p...d=285578#Cross

Will upload some pics later on, I simply bolted them through my rack, had to make some metal plates for the mesh under the rack to bolt them to but as not much goes in my rack these days I thought I would fit them up there instead of using trax rax on the side of the rack. Lets be honest, you dont need maxtrax much in a locked prado!
