Waiting to be installed in the shed
-gearbox, transfer and front diff breathers (rear is done)
    -Aftermarket Flares

    My wish list
-front locker (although it's pretty bloody good just with the rear)!

    Trailer modifications

Originally it was just my 7x4 dump/backyard box trailer and I then decided to turn it into something special for camping. It was an off road trailer originally.

-Custom made steel hard lid on gas struts to keep water out and keep the gear locked up
    -Extended front drawbar + reinforced
-Custom mounted checkerplate toolbox on front of trailer
-Stabiliser legs fitted to the rear of the trailer
-Custom made checker plate stone guard protectors on either side of toolbox to prevent chips
-custom made spare wheel carrier on the front (similar to what is on some boats)
-2 x 20L jerry can holders either side for either diesel or additional water
-2 x 60L plastic water tanks mounted under trailer on either side of the axle. I have a valve so I can have one on and then when it runs out I know I am half way through my water and can turn that tank off and the reserve 60L tank on
    -Off-road Leaf spring suspension
-265/70/17 Maxxis Bighorn's on Prado 17" Alloy wheels
-3 x Yuasa deep cycle 90 a/h sealed lead acid batteries housed in front tool box
-2 x 4.5kg gas bottles housed in front tool box. 1 is used for gas shower and cooker and 1 is a backup
-140 watt roof mounted solar panel which is removable to chase the sun
-40 watt solar panel fixed on tool box
-30 amp MPPT solar regulator showing battery %, solar input, amp hour output and battery temperature along with a lot of other things
    -12v pressure pump
-8L automated gas hot water system for hot water showers + hot water in the kitchen. 2 x DD batteries power an automatic lighting pilot light once water is turned on
-Stainless steel tailgate kitchen with 12v pressurised running water (no hand pump) and stainless cupboard + drawer underneath
-custom plywood partitions inside trailer for gear to be stored + 100% marine carpeted for nice durable finish
-custom made kitchen drawers to house cutlery, crockery etc
-custom made fridge slide out of galvanised steel and bearings for slide rollers
-Marine 12v switchboard to run lights, pressure pump etc
    -1000 watt power inverter
-Led strip lights on remote control for under hard lid, can be turned off from inside the tent
-led strip lights on tailgate kitchen
-led strip lights inside tool box
-Thule roof racks with Kayak holder
-Led rear tail lights & number plate light on trailer
-painted in Hammertone gun metal grey
-Factory 120 Prado Alloy 17" Wheels
-Maxxis Bighorn 265/70/17 tyres which are interchangeable with the Prado
-ARB roof top tent on self lifting system
-2x2 tigerz awning with tent room with is used for ensuite toilet and shower

    My wish list
    -none its perfect

(the reason this has not been done yet is because I am seeing the true functionality of how efficient the solar panels work). My car has dual batteries so worst case I move the fridge into my car if power ever became an issue.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi guys I have ben lurking the threads for a while now so thought I'd say g'day and write a bit about my prado.

I picked her up at the city motor auctions in eagle farm in Brissy with 94000km on the clock and a few extras for under 20K so was very happy with that. Since then I have replaced the factory bullbar with a tigerz11 steel bar and 12,000 pound hercules steel winch. I have added a tigerz11 full length steel roof rack and awning with strip lighting inside.

On anzac day I have also just thrown on a beaudesert exhaust, man what a mission! The exhaust itself fitted great but the bolts on my turbo from the dump pipe were so corroded and rusted I had to remove the whole turbo out of the engine bay and grind the bolts on on the vice then re-install it all. Anyway very happy with the exhaust now its all back on!

Next on the list which I have sitting in the shed is a tough dog 2" lift kit and ironman bash plates for under the car as I ripped the transfer bash plate off at fraser island over easter.

I hope to see you all around soon and I will throw up some pics as the progress continues.

Here are some pics at the sandy cape at Fraser island from Easter 2013

Nice 120 series. And a steal for that price.
          Just a question.
Do you still have the original bullbar and if so do you want to sell it.

          Cheers

I agree with the other posts. That's a great price assuming that the service records are ok. I paid about 10 more than that 2 years ago for a cleanskin car with no extras but a great service record and had done no work. How do the 275 tyres go? I fitted 245's so that they wouldn't stick out too far past the guards.

Hi Boyce, thanks mate I agree it was a steal hence why I jumped at it. It had no log books hence why the cheap price however I did a revs check and kms are genuine. Dash is cracked which seems normal but thats it the rest is good. I have a very good mate whos been a mechanic for toyota for a number of years previously so took him and he went right over it and couldnt believe the condition of it. Shockies were pretty flogged out and lots of red dirt behind the panels so obviously been a country car with a few corrugations but in very good condition overall. Thwe 275's were on it when i bought it and brand new tread so cant justify changing them to something more aggressive than the bridgestones as of yet. But surprisingly with the rim offset they barely stick out passed the guard at all. They do stick out a little but still less than the sidesteps and edge of the tigerz11 bullbar which is great. Dont forget too guys its the GX poverty pack not the GXL so they are a bit cheaper anyway.

Here is a shot of the new 2" tough dog lift guys, very happy with it and its very smooth on-road compared to other lifted 4x4s I have had in the past. Cannot wait to get it dirty and test it! I bought some ironman underbody protection also so will throw that on soon and go out and get it dirty...Click image for larger version

looks great 2004, good to see another pov pack getting a makeover, changing the std suspension over is one of the best mods you can do and when you throw some decent tyres in and maybe even a locker it inhances the offroad abilities greatly, watching this build closely. cheers samo
had an 03 gx 120 with some gear now got a 2013 bt 50 GT auto some ARB gear.
