DIY Hidden Winch Mount, Dual Battery and Compressor on the front.

    Front - 840
    Rear - 880
Droop on the front - 50mm (in theory should be min 60mm but I am not having any issues with topping out over speed bumps etc so happy)

    • I have a 2-3" lift kit from CalOffroad.

I measured mine from the centre of the wheel to the guards (I have 17" wheels, so can add 8.5" = 216mm to get equivalent measurements to what others are quoting in here):
      LF: 610mm RF: 605mm
      LR: 600mm RR: 598mm

Those of you bright sparks out there may think that is too high in the front. You would be right. Apparently I am an idiot and installed my front spring seat upside down. I'll be fixing that on Sunday, so will update the new measurements after. Hopefully that should drop it about 30mm.

          • Hi All, just came across this thread as I was curious how much lift I actually got out of our new suspension, silly me forgot to measure before pulling it all out, and how it compares to others that have done a similar mod.

Anyway I installed the 2" Caloffroad kit, in about Sep last year in our Prado 150 GXL. Took two days to do with polyairs in the rear coils.

Accessories are steel ARB bar, dual batteries and that's it for now.

Measurements to the lower lip of the 17" rim are:
            FL:825mm FR:820mm
            RL:850mm RR:845mm

Very happy with the ride and handling improvements but not so happy with the extra wear on the outside of both front tyres, and the flighty feel of the steering

Four weeks ago I installed the Superior Engineering upper control arms, and I must say the improvement in handling is out of this world. I now longer feel as though the Prado is going to tip over the front tyre going around corners.

            Measurements are now:
            FL:810mm FR:810mm
            RL:850mm RR:845mm.

            Michael.

Yep pretty happy at the moment, it holds the road a lot better and I have taken it down a few tracks where previously I have hit the undercarriage or had to build the track up with no issues. I would mind the front a smidgen higher but the figures seem to be on the money so I wont mess with a good thing!

Perhaps surprisingly, I haven't noticed much of a difference in the ride. Need bigger wheels now.....

                • C59-300 doesn't sound right for the front. That is a coil more suited to the 120's weight.

Was recommended, and appears to conform to the Dobinson catalogue

Edit: I see, should maybe have gone with the 352? c'est la vie

830mm on the front doesn't seem right, seems way to high, 60mm droop on the front is not much either.
