Thanks Craig, When I drove the other night they were definitely pointed down way too much so the light bar (which is combo beam) was actually pointless. So when I was parked up against the shed tonight while trying to figure out how to mount 4 x Jerry can holders (to hold 4 x 10L jerries) and I did some slight adjustments. Yet to test... so tired and can't be stuffed going for a drive! will let you know mate, i'm sure if i had a 40" i'd be OK although i'd go a flood now, not combo beam. Which beam do you have?

Haha easy fellas! If your kids live with you be thankful as they are only young once. I wish i could see my boy every day. He lives in sydney and he's only 2 1/2. I look forward to when he's old enough to take on these camping trips with me.

4 more sleeps still I depart

            • I'm running both my IPF HID's as pencil beams now. The LED bars great spread would have washed out any impact that the HID's would've had. The pencil beams provide more light directly further up the road making it for me, the perfect combo.

                • misaligned wheels on the rear bar are simple to fix. Just need to undo locking bolts holding the whole assembly to the arm and slide in or out as required. They're made to be adjustable to suit different sizes of tyres.

                  • Thanks for the comments. I tested the Intensity's properly last night and they are quite unreal in terms of how much they flood and spot altogether. I don't completely understand why they went a 6500K temperature and you just lose a bit of light IMO due to the depth of "blueness". The distance is actually quite far but it's quite a blueish light so it's not very bright, however does easily light up reflectors and the eyes of wildlife extremely well in the distance. So i think i'm happy.. i am hard to please though.

Thanks for that Greenie, ARB rang me Monday night and told me the same. Seems they didn't even know. However my Mechanic had a shot at it yesterday and he thinks there may be a slightly bent arm so i'll have a go myself if i get time and see what I can do. Otherwise Kaymar will be hearing from me only because of how much the thing cost me i want it to be bang on!

                    • Matt,

What do you mean, the rear wheels don't line up? As in profile from front of car to rear or, height from left to right? Cheers

Here is a photo to explain it:

Just got back from my 6500km outback trip. Wow what an adventure, horrible roads and many interesting events!

                            • Yes there is definitely something not right with the bar.

Okay here a few pics, couple from a friend who is great on the camera, many more to come i'd say. The other few are just some quick ones i took, didn't do any fancy stuff on the trip we didn't have time. 6500kms in 2 weeks.

Great trip but we had a few dramas...! What's an adventure if everything goes to plan.

My rear shock fell out as I was pulling into a town, that was interesting.

My MSA fridge slide which i've never been happy with literally rattled to pieces and fell apart.

Bolts for my side steps fell out somewhere.

                              Lost my akubra :'(

My coopers are a little bruised and battered, however I was lucky in comparison to the rest of the group. Had a hilux with near new coopers get a massive puncture under one of it's tread blocks. Took 12 plugs to stop it from leaking and he limped it to a station (pays to carry same size spares ). Had a good year wrangler completely blow its side wall into pieces. A set of new BFG AT's got 2 x punctures. Another set of coopers also received a big stick through the middle.

The jeep for once didn't breakdown, his trailer did this time round. The road to chambers pillar is shocking. Had to organise a car trailer and hang around alice springs for 3 days.

                              Started off nice and clean....

                              • Nice rig there mate. I wonder if mine will look like yours after I finish with.

Regarding your rear bar, I have a Kaymar on my GU and it has the same misaligned rear arms which looks stupid. I did however have one of the rims off the arm the other day and noticed that the face you mount the wheel on was bent. Thereby meaning the wheels are out of kilter from each other. It may be worth you having a look at that

                                Cheers
