Even a tweak on the current D4D engine, bored out to 3.2 in the 147'ish kw range would be a nice upgrade. Mitsubishi did it with the Pajero, come on Toyota, suprise us......

In the link to the carsales in post no8 it states the price at $5000 more than the GXL with $10000 of extra value, but have not got a clue what that maybe worth. The one thing with Toyota, they have one set of prices for fleets etc then the "lets stick it to the regular public price because they will buy it as it is a Toyota " price .

I went to a dealer yesterday enquiring about the Altitude.
it will be approximately $68,990 plus onroad costs. They indicated to me that it would be about $73k onroad.

Based on that, it is at least 10k dearer than a GXL.

The last quote I received for GXL was 59000 including tow bar and rubber mats. I thought toyota said $10k accessaries in 5k..so we should be able to get Altitude around 65-66k

It seems that Toyota have some "end of financial year" specials on the GXL and are selling them for around $58k-$59k.

Based on the normal price of the GXL of around $64k-$65k, paying $69k for the Altitude makes sense.

                        Cheers,

I doubt anyone paid 64-65K ever for GXL. If you look at the another forum re pricing of Prado, most people have paid 61-62K with lot of accessories. I guess as Altitude is a limited edition, dealers don't want to bring down the price as it is selling like hotcakes.

That is fair enough but for another $5kish you are better off with a VX in my view. But then I just have a GXL so what would I know.

I have been quoted $69,900 D/A in Sydney with metallic paint, tow bar, carpet mats, window tint and 90 litres of diesel compared with $60,300 D/A for the auto GXL with same accessories plus front sensors. Unfortunately the LCT kicks in on the Altitude so there is almost $2k of the difference. My leasing company are doing check pricing for me at the moment.

The GXL is looking favourite at the moment as I can't justify an extra $200 a month on the lease when I only really want the leather seats of the extras. We have two iPads for the kids movies on long trips and a sat nav unit already. The Mrs, who's car it willl be except on weekends, doesn't ever use the sunroof in her current car, so its really on the leather that of interest. No matter which one, I am looking forward to joining the Prado gang though!

I have heard good things about the wetseat seat covers, which IMHO might be a better option than leather.
