The SST does make it easier in that it will insert itself the right depth to release the tube from its receptacle. If you push a silicone nozzle in too far you risk damaging the O-ring attached to the tube.
I found it safer to pull the tubes out of the air compressor end to release the pressure in each airbag rather than cutting the tube near the airbag. This way there is some controlled release of the air in case the car starts to lower it self because it wasn't supported properly.
Also not cutting the original tube will mean that should you wish to put back factory airbags, there is still sufficient length to do so.
I have an SST if you need it but can't get it from your dealer.
