The ST model has been around for a long time, and I've heard plenty of bad stories for them... just wonder if Coopers has actually taken notice and improved their recent products.
I had ST-Maxx on my Patrol and every 30,000kms the dealer replaced the front two for free because the damn white writing which is made of rubber kept cracking and pealing away.

I went through six new tyres in three years free of charge and sold it with another new set on the front. Despite not costing me anything I'll never touch them again. POS tyre.

I've been told that the Coopers on my new camper trailer are made in China. Anyone know how to read country of manufacture on tyres? I'm assuming that the high priced Coopers with warranty are made in USA and the grey imports are Chinese?

      Cheers Jim.

I had a set of STT on my hilux years ago. Great tyre, only lasted 40,000 but that's my fault for doing burnouts in the hilux.
At Xmas I replaced the worn out grand treks on the Prado with ST Max, love them.
Don't have a problem with them.
Just coming up time to rotate them for the warranty
        Geoff

Im not Bogged - I've just lost traction. . . . . and now I'm showing the wife why I bought those Maxtrax, and the tyre deflator, and the compressor, and the bullbar, and the winch, and a lot of other goodies I've hidden in the Prado

Wow, what passion over a bunch of rubber :-) I have just replaced the Cooper AT3's on my 120 series Prado which came in at just under 80000km. The AT3's look like they still have around 50% tread on them, but I decided to replace them all when I punctured the side wall on one of them. I was off road at the time with tyre pressure at 28psi. I have been told since that I should have perhaps had a lower pressure for those conditions. Up until that point, I was very happy with the AT3's and would have easily recommended them to anyone.. It was a difficult choice to move away from them, as they have always performed very well both on and off road. I'm a member of the Toyota Landcruiser Club and have done all of the clubs training and several trips on the AT3's and they have never let me down. They have been through snow, mud, rock, sand, etc.. Never missed a beat. I must stress that I had the LT construction AT3's not the standard ones. My car takes LT265/65R17. I decided to try the STMaxx due to their more agressive tread and stronger side walls. Just had them fitted by Tyre King at Seven Hills for $385 per tyre. Great price considerinpg that I paid $345 for the AT3's in 2011. I haven't found them to be much noisier than the AT3's. Drove from Sydney to the Glow worm tunnel near Newnes on the weekend and they felt great on the bitumen and dirt. Very happy so far. Let's see how they go.

PS. I was able to repair the side wall puncture on the AT3 with my tyre repair kit and drive out of the 4wD track and back to Sydney. I then driove on the repaired tyre for a couple of days while trying to decide which tyres to buy. The tyre didn't lose any pressure from the time that I repaired and re inflated it to the time that it was finally decommissioned. The guy at the tyre place couldn't beleive that such a repair could be made and actually held for so long.

Your Coopers are made in the same factory as Mickey Thompsons, wherever that is... (seriou

@ pnewfield..I may have to join you to get out from my very hum drum life! Hope to meet you there. FWIW I remember another thread on Coopers. The Coopers logo is not printed on but is separate thin white rubber layer. Consequently the outer black layer to get the lettering is thin too, so cosmetic damage is more apparent /easily allowed than other brands?? So possibly a good tyre but not the best choice for rock crawling??

Flow cracks. It is a manufacturing error and shouldn't happen. But it cooper, the do what they want, never mind the customer.

This why my at maxx were replaced three times in pairs.
