Hi Nik,
I just used longer bolts down into the existing tracks on the back of the 3rd row seats. Not sure which model you have but the Kakadu has different tracks to the GX and GXL. I can't recall the exact width and length but I just found matching ones that were long enough to cater for the thickness of the timber and carpet (I used 19mm marine ply). The hardest part is marking the position for the bolt holes through the false floor.
A bit of trial and error was required but here are a couple of techniques for marking the hole locations. the 1st is to lay the floor down on top of the bolts after you have screwed them into the bolt holes in the tracks and give the corners a whack with a hammer. The force should cause the bolt heads to put a dent in the timber. I did this after the carpet was glued down so the hammer didn't dent the top surface. The 2nd method is to put some paint on each bolt head and again give the corners a whack, the wet paint should leave a mark on the back of the timber which you can use to drill the bolt holes. Not perfect methods though, I found a bit of extra drilling and filing was required to get it sorted.
There are track you can bolt on that allow you to adjust the location of your tie down points, something like these :- http://www.supercheapauto.com.au/onl...ecommendations
