My Black Prado Kakadu

Hi All first post, We just picked up Our first Prado on Tuesday a 2010 Black Prado Kakadu petrol, Great Car very happy with it.

This will be My Daily driver/ family car As I also have a VE HSV Senator Signature LS3 with a Harrop Supercharger & a HSV R8 Tourer.

Looking forward to start adding bits to the Kakadu

First mod - Get the dealer to swap your mudflaps for the longer ones like I did. There's a thread in the 150 section if you need more info.

Another quick Mod tip, remove rear tyre cover. That one costs you nothing!

Thanks i'll look into that. just ordered a tinted bonnet protector. still deciding if We will get a bullbar or not. We have had a couple of patrol's previously so will be nice to get it out for some offroad fun soon.

Yeah We have two HSV's & a VE Calais V8 that im selling as the Prado is the replacement for that.

2 hsv's looks like one next door also .
Black will look good with scratches ( like mine ) still looks good when washed .

The only reason to remove the tyre cover is if you are fitting larger tyres (i.e. 265/65/R18) as they won't fit under the cover. Mine came with 4 x 265/65/18's but the previous owner hadn't replaced the spare (real smart move there). Due to legality issues I've gone back to 265/60/R18's (didn't cost me a cent though) so I see no reason to replace the spare or remove the cover. Apparently you do get a bit more visibility out the back without the cover but I haven't tried it myself.

I'll be keeping the cover, But im thinking of getting a second set of rims for off road do the 120 gx steel rims fit a 150?

Welcome Mike. I had a big cammed VE R8 as my weekender but ended up selling it because the Kakadu was so nice and easy to drive. I ended up driving it more on weekends than the clubby.

Hey Daz thanks & yeah I recall you from LS1 forum. Your right the Kakadu is a great Car but the Blown Senator Sig will always be My Weekend toy. :mrgreen:

No. You need 18" for KDSS Prados.
