Here it is. I bought the separator on ebay for about $10.
I used to have a Snap-on one, but when I priced a new one, I nearly fell off my chair.
This looks the same inside as the Snap-on, and works the same too.

Got one of these. Close to accurate. Reads 40psi when it's 38psi.

        Cheers,

We did a comparison of these on the GTG at beachport. I think we tried 2 or 3 of these gauges and they were wrong, by 4 - 7 psi. We made this comparison against a number of normal gauges that all read the same PSI (different brands too).

On another note, I'm on my third one of these ARB gauges since September. The first gauge didn't even go into the orange hose (found this out at the GTG and had to borrow one for the whole trip). The second replacement gauge has been used three times. The bleed valve on this one simply fell-out the other day whilst it was in my recovery bag. I'm going for the third one this week. Fingers crossed the third is okay.

OK just had to do a little test.

Tested my standard tyre gauge (what you find at a servo but better quality) that was tested many years ago and was accurate, against ARB deflator and ARB tyre inflator + pressure gauge + chuck

Standard Tyre Gauge - 39.5 PSI
            ARB deflator - 36.5
ARB tyre inflator + pressure gauge + chuck - 39.5

Seems so far the inaccurate one is the deflator and this was purchased in more recent times.

Will check all these against BP servo with stand alone unit and report.

i find it a very useful tool as I can air up (or down) and check pressures very quickly. The pressure reading only shows when you release the lever - while filling it shows 0.

What happens to the air pressure coming from the compressor when the lever is released? Does it release the air , or does it block the hose causing the pressure to back up to the compressor?

I'm not sure if my compressor will automatically cut off, so just wondering if I would cause any damage by using one of these?

                  thanks.

Compressor stops immediately & will start up again with lever or be released when you disconnect the hose.
Mine was reading 10psi too low so swapped it over worries

Depends on the compressor you have. I think all the current ARB models have a pressure cut off switch but with some of the older ones it was an optional extra.

I placed a loose medium thickness cable tie that I can slip over the leaver so I too can walk away while it is filling and it is loose enough to slip back off when you want to stop filling.
