    Hi everyone,

The photo competition is now running. I've built a new platform for it and has had some preliminary testing.

Before you head on over and check it out, please make sure when you login to Pradopoint you tick the box that says 'remember me'.

It's the only way the competition website will know you are a registered member.

    http://photocomp.pradopoint.com/

Good luck, have fun and if you discover any little bugs, please let me know via PM.

I somehow managed to upload only half a photo in the June (river) section. All you see is sky and water .... no Prado. Any way to delete it?

The front on shot of the silver 150 series winching with the TJM stickers all over it is the TJM car used for their published marketing. It appears in their brochures, some TJM store wall murals & a couple of Roothy's 4wd Action DVD's driven by Don She**ing who is the TJM marketing manager. That photo used in this competition is from the TJM website, their current 137 page product catalogue in the winches section, a separate recovery equipment brochure and the 2012 TJM calendar. You can't use a professionally photographed TJM car from their website and marketing material to try and win

I just found another with the TJM 150 series Prado posted again by the same person in the mud category titled "Happy as a pig." A professional photograph of a vehicle that belongs to a 4wd equipment company, who used a marketing or photography company to take a these photos and who digitally tweaked them to make them good enough for marketing purposes. Why submit professional photos of a Prado that clearly belongs to TJM? It's a pretty well known vehicle. You're supposed to use your own vehicle dude, that's the whole idea

And I just found another two with the TJM Prado both in the desert category titled "Driving" & "Climb every mountain" uploaded by the same person. Again, these two photos are found in TJM brochures, on their website and one of which is in their 2012 calendar.

And I found another two in the sunset category haha.

There's a couple other magazine photos in there which seems like a legal issue to me (??)

                Brett/Glen,
I don't know, but it is possible that the person posting images that have also appeared in magazines etc. has taken photographs of their own vehicle, and may have also provided these same images to TJM for their marketing. I for one have provided images to my employer - I give permission for my employer to use such images in their marketing (and my images have been used for calendars, brochures, and even a free-standing banner) but I retain copyright so I could use them for other purposes as well. These images have also been 'retouched' using digital photo-editing (enhancing!) software which is readily available, at very reasonable price (yes, legitimately) to everyone, not just professional photographers.

I don't know for sure, but it possible that it is legitimate - Pradopoint would have to check with the member who has uploaded the images to ensure that person owns the images.

I didn't comment on any other photos uploaded, only the 150 series TJM Prado. But I kind of doubt the TJM car would be owned by someone else privately and let the TJM marketing manager drive it to Cape York on the Tele track and also on the flooded & boggy Frenchman's Track for a magazine shoot and 4wd Action DVD's just 1 week after the Cape York tracks were declaired re-opened after the wet season. Unless you'd be happy to let someone do that in your car and even cross Nolan's in it for sh*ts & giggles with the windows down and have a wave of water cascade onto the door arm rest electrics I may stand corrected? Look, maybe the person who uploaded the 150 series TJM Prado pics is a TJM employee/manager for them or something... I doubt it, but maybe. Those pics were used from the TJM website. All I was commenting on was why use someone else's car and not your own for this competition? It doesn't worry me personally about legal issues and copyright as I'm not a solicitor looking for work, but I don't think that Prado belongs to the person who uploaded the pics. And if the person owned their own Prado, or that TJM Prado they'd take normal shots it of out on the tracks themselves wouldn't they, not use professionally taken marketing photos from the website and magazines with different people behind the wheel in the photos including female models. It doesn't make sense to me, but then again if it's widely condoned for this competition, and with respect to you sir, then I guess I have to accept it as normal.

The only other explanation I have is that someone in TJM head office uploaded those pictures themselves and have been using PP under an alias as they didn't want to identify themselves... But reading many of the posts to know what the general perception is of their products out there and it's a very good site to do it on too. Maybe we'll see ARB, OL or Ironman Prado marketing shots show up for the calendar comp next provided any of the stores have one

They would almost certainly be put up by someone at TJM, they are the TJM corporate shots and the funny thing is the old TJM marketing manager features in a few of the images. Still cannot deny but that they are good shots and I should hope so for who shot them...

They are damn good photos. I had seen them plenty of times before seeing them on here and they are very impressive. They've even got excellent shots of a blue 200 series Landcruiser that are 2nd to none. And that's an unbiased opinion even though just about every time I go into TJM I need a shopping trolley
Every birthday & Xmas I request stuff from TJM.
