    [Love the lights Geoff !]

Thanks mate, I just thought they were a good idea, I hate trying to hold the torch in one hand, searching for the compressor with the other to use it at night. Handy to have just in case, and cheap to do.

[Hi geoff, love the colour! I missed out on the altitudes and pearl is the bet by far.
Already started crossing off that list.
    Good work
    J]

I didn't originally want Pearl, I was chasing a Graphite, but if I wanted an Altitude there was only Pearl left.
    Now I love it.
Yea few things done, not as fast as I'd like, but it will get done, slow and steady. Gives me time to come up with better ideas!

Great idea with the lights under the bonnet Geoff, and not something I have seen much of on here before.

Do they turn on each time you open the bonnet or is there a switch hidden somewhere?

        Thanks Madkore,

At the moment, there's just a switch next to the bonnet hinge,
I've been looking for a good trigger switch to mount under the side edge of the bonnet, but only found cheap metal ones that will slowly rust and seize up. If i can't find a good one, ill fit a small flick switch in the plastic cover over the radiator, just next to the bonnet latch.

I Haven't done much lately, 1 thing i did get around to doing is to fit a Kaymar rear wheel spacer with Aerial mount.

I used this as i didn't want to fit my aerial to the Bull bar, when it goes on.
At the rear, its out of the way, not in eye sight when driving, and a little higher.
I only screw the aerial on when going away, so around town i leave it in the back of the car, so it doesn't clash with overhead signs and undercover car parks.

Removed the spare wheel cover, wheel, and back tyre cover.
unbolted the wheel mount, bolted on the Kaymar bracket. there are a lot of bolts to fit, when you add on the aerial mount as well.
Made sure everything was done up tight. Don't want it rattling loose over corrogations.

          Mounted

              Hi Geoff,

Have you noticed the antenna hitting the rear "spoiler" or does it sit far enough away from the boot ?

              Cheers

                Hey VZ

The aerial sits nice and clear of the spoiler. The 1st pic below has the tape level with the furtherest curve of the spoiler. It's actually a good 50mm more than that measurement at its closest.
The other pics below show different views.

I haven't had any issues with it in this position, other than than the occasional soft branch from overhanging trees on the track. Even then it hasn't got caught and sprung back to hit the car.

As a reference, its a GME 6.6 dbl aerial, and the spring mount came with the aerial.

The big 2 mods go on on monday, Bullbar & Suspension, looking forward to that.

I keep looking at yours for ideas.

So I picked up the Prado from ARB today. It had gone in for a deluxe winch bull bar and suspension. But the good old painter had decided to paint the bar silver instead of pearl white.

So the suspension went in, but I need to take the car back next Tuesday to fit the bar. Not too bad, I'll do a trip on the weekend, clock up the 500kms so they can do the follow up wheel alignment at the same time.

I went with Old Man Emu 50mm lift medium springs front and 50mm lift standard springs rear, with polyairs.

                        Before measurements were
                        BEFORE. AFTER.
                        FL. 765mm. 810mm
                        FR. 770mm. 820mm
                        RL. 790mm. 840mm
                        RR. 780mm. 840mm

After measurements are taken with polyairs are at 5psi. 3/4 full tank

Looking forward to getting out on the weekend to test it out.

I have been so busy the last month or so, getting the car ready to get away, and then on holiday, that i haven't had time to update here.

I finally got the correct bullbar fitted, took them 3 goes.

I'ts an ARB Deluxe Winch Bar in Pearl White to match the car.
The colour matching looks damn good in person, and almost worth the hassle.

The suspension and bulbar has made the car look much better.
The ground clearance from the suspension is a vast improvement from stock, and has gotten rid of the boat feel.

A also made up a rear light from some metal lying around at dads place, and he was good enough to weld it together for me,
since my ability to weld is more just melting two bits of metal together - badly.

Its welded to the light mount bracket that comes with the Kaymar rear wheel bracket.

The Light is a 27Watt 9 LED light of EBay. Picked it up for $22. got a curly cable that sits inside a second tube coiled up.
The cable I ran thru the rear door earlier when I set up the rear aerial cable.
