Father & Son Weekend Lake Campfire Maroon Dam

Hi All

Heading up to lake Campfire on 17th August with the followig for a father and son weekend;
1 x Prado GXL
1 x Prado Altitude
1 x BT 50 (Brand new...... former Prado owner with about $10g worth of ARB toys)
1 x 200 series
2 x Boats
1 x Expanda
1 x Camp Trailer
4 brand new pots for apparently MASSIVE Redclaw!!!!!!
From here I am not sure.
We will be going to lakefire.... I found it before Queensland Weekender did and I must say this place does NOT fail to impress;

Sounds like a fun crowd.

Last time we were there, old mate who runs the campground told us about some nice 4WD-only climbs that take you to a waterfall near there. We ran out of time to explore it more. When you get tired of skiing (yeah right ) It might be with the drive.

Trip finished.

The best part was a lot of the guys said about their sons....He never went near his DS....or Ipad....or game....now THAT is a father and son weekend.

The Venue
Camp Lakefire is at maroon dam and about 2 hours from Brisbane.
The camp has showers and toilets but you have to drive to them if you want the best spots. If you have a boat....BRING IT....or hire the boats with the small electric motors they are great and quite fast.

For us.....time with our sons.....look for that matter with our kids is special......2 nights....heaps of food and a commitment to do it once every 6 months...it makes sense...there is no such thing as too busy........
