    from memory here,
the blue cable from the controller gets connected to the blue cable in the harness.Isn`t there a blue single cable somewhere. The harness runs downs to you trailer plug.Don`t have a picture handy.
stepped up the a 200 LC for towing,
but had a 2012 and 2010 150 Prado GXL auto diesel in Graphite with Bridgestone D697 A/T. Dobinson C59-300/325 and Bilsteins. Accessories : two baby seats. Sidewinder`s Dual Battery isolator and rear power outlet kit. Pirana Battery tray, Hayman Reese towbar with Toyota wiring kit and Brains`s guard.

I found the wire!!! Very easy to install a brake controller in the 150. I have the Redarc Remote Head unit. I had to borrow a friends Prodigy as my Redarc hadn't shown up in the post. After driving and towing my new Expanda I found the Tekonsha unit to be far superior as is linear as it has a pendulum setup. The Redarc simply applies the set brake pressure whenever the brake light is energised. Set it too high and it pulls pretty hard on the towbar!!!

Next car will have a Tekonsha, but will try to make it removable so it isn't permanently in the vehicle.

Have a Redarc on my Prado. Just a matter of trying different settings to determine what is best for light traffic, down hills, etc. Set mine around 4 or 5 for general towing, 9 for down steep hills.

Do you have any pics of this installation setup? Do you ever bump it or does it get in the way down there?
I'm about to install a P3 and am having a hard time deciding where to put it.
          Thanks

Only trouble with Wassa2 is that it sould be the other way round for the invertia to work.
Blue wire goes into pin number 5 and should be 5mm squared wire to work properly I have found.
I have used both Redarc and P3 in my vehicles
              Cheers

After having had a P3 on my Navara I was going to install the same in the 150 but given the lack of decent mounting positions and advice from ARB I went with the Redarc remote head unit. I have just returned from a 2000km trip to Queensland towing a 2.3t caravan and must say I am SO disappointed with the Redarc. The P3 being a progressive unit is so much more user friendly than the non progressive Redarc. I was constantly having to adjust the Redarc and even on the lowest setting I was still getting brake lock-up on the caravan in some situations and in others it was just downright dangerous.

I have just fitted a P3 in the cupholder in the centre console of my auto 150. It looks a bit naff but is out of the way, I can easily reach the manual brake activation lever, I don't hit my knees on it and it is well away from all airbags. It was also relatively easy to fit with a custom bracket. If I decide to remove it at a later date, I can just replace the rubber mat in the cupholder and the mounting/wiring holes will all be covered over. Operation of the Redarc really doesn't appeal to me

I cannot take credit for the idea, that was someone else on here. I just made a simple bracket which bolts to the bottom of the cupholder with 4 extra holes for the cables (1 through each hole) From memory the mounting screws into the side of the p3 were 82mm from the base of the cupholder. This makes the P3 sit up fairly high but it needs to be high so that the manual brake actuator works without fouling anything

Thank you. I prefer that brand but havent used that model.

Many years ago my work 4wds had a controller that you could turn the dial - was great when you really needed it, easy to see and access - Landcruiser ute. The other had a slide and I really didnt like it - and that one was to the left of my knee and I couldnt access it easily - think that one was in a 120 series.

I thought there were maximum angles these could be mounted at as they had some motion sensor inside???

Yes they do have a motion sensor however the P3 seems to be ok on large angles. The P2 is a bit more restricted. The way I read the instructions they could virtually be mounted on any angle however they need to be level across the car.It certainly works the way it is mounted now. Similar angle to mounting it in front of your left knee above the airbag

I mounted the P3 in the glove box beside the card holder. I removed the glove box, used the jig saw and removed a small section of the back of the glove box. Fits great and can simply be opened to operate the emergency brake. I wired the brake pickup to a dark blue with gold markers wire which was located in the passenger side where the cable loom runs in the cill.
