Footnote: Prado arrived home safely in 8 days (Darwin to Brisbane). We had left everything in the car (cleaned out the fridge and turned it off, though), and since the company we went through allowed the car to be fully loaded, we hoped for the best. Anyway, all was well, and I thought I should mention the company's name in case anyone else was wanting to transport their fully loaded car by truck...

We used Automovers - look on the web at www.automovers.com.au and they were very accommodating, professional people.

Just planning the next trip now...
    Rob.

      Rob,
I am impressed with the quality and field of view of the drift HD camera. You get good vision either side of the car as well. How did you have it mounted. Can you post a pic of the setup please. What's you thoughts on it?
      Cheers

The Drift170 video camera has a normal camera thread to mount to any sort of tripod, handlebar, helmet, etc mount - in this case I bought a Ram Suction mount, and attached it to the inside of the windscreen, just under the rearr vision mirror. This held firm under all road conditions.

The great thing about the Drift170 is that the lens and camera sensor are able to be rotated to any direction, relative to the camera outer case, thus I could mount the camera in any position inside the windscreen, and yet have the image upright to record and view.

Additionally, the camera recharges its batteries via a USB connection, which also powers the unit if connected. So I just had a cable from the unit to the cigarette lighter socket and this could charge/power the camera when discharged. I'll post a pic tomorrow.
