Had a look through the 3yr Warranty that was chucked in with the purchase of my 04 Grande to see if I could make a claim on my Split RHS Airbag suspension. No Shocks or springs (other than Leaf's) are included in the coverage. The Airbag Compressor is however... (Most of the Suspension components covered by the Warranty are all the bushes...)

I'm in a simmiliar boat, I just bought my 120 series diesel with 120,000kms and it has 3 years or 150,000km warranty
Or I can pay $695 for the 200,000km warranty.

Not sure if its worth it as they said I must get it serviced by Toyota every 10,000kms and at $260/service I'd be saving $180-200 just by doing it myself.

      Is it really worth it?

      Cheers brad

Brad with the way these injector seals are shitting them selves and the injectors as well, including blocked pick up screens in the oil sump and motors going bang, I wouldn't hesitate in getting it and going by reports on here (PP) yours is coming up to when injectors/seals would be due very soon. I presume these would be covered under warranty ?? BUT read the small print. I took the extra care warranty out with one of my toyota's when we bought it new but it was toyota warranty, not one of these aftermarket policies which cover you generally for jackshit. I had the dash replaced on my toyota (not the prado) during the extra 3 years and also a few extra things that well and truly paid for itself.........Cheers Steve

Thanks steve m, yeh I will be taking it on after reading another thread on this issue in engine section.

But It has me worried now, have I bought the wrong car.. Seems to be regular quotes of $10,000+ to fix these problems.

Sounds like injectors last bugger all and if not fixed the motor is likely to go BANG!! Then there is the rear diff problems.. :-?

          Not good Toyota

Bought mine 2nd hand from Toyota with extended 3rd party warranty which includes roadside assist. Used roadside already with a flat battery (left key) on.
i think its worth it. Anything goes wrong on these things you are talking thousands.

Weigh up the cost of overpriced servicing by Toyota as you have to get it serviced by Toyota
once the standard warranty runs out and for the life of the extended warranty.
Miss one service or too late with it its an out for them
If you dont take up the $1500 offer you have $1500 towards any repair and about $200 minimium saved
with every service done elsewhere from toyota....
Toyota extended warranty does not require Toyota Service. Just proper On Time service ie Ultra-Tune, Midas, etc etc. And also, proper typically Toyota parts. For the area that is failing ...

My Toyota extra care has well and truly paid for itself, if I was to buy another Toyota I would do it again. But yea make sure you advise them every single time, before works been committed, it has to be approved by extra care, but I've never had a claim refused. Claims range from front grill right up to turbo and injectors

My dealer warranty paid to replace my motor. It cost me nilch, zip, nothing , nought!!! The guys at CMI Toyota in Adelaide took on Toyota! and got Toyota to "opt in" to fixing my blown motor. They treated me much better than I could have ever expected. I suspect that if it was a Toyota warranty they would have NOT done a damm thing as had been experienced by a number of members here. BEST DAMM $1,100 I EVER SPENT!!!!!!!!

Big thankyou to CMI Adelaide City.

We seem to be missing the point . It's an 07/08 TOYOTA PETROL , $1500 will easily cover anything that could or might possibly go wrong in the next 3 years that will be covered by the the warranty . Consumables are not covered by warranty . Toyota's servicing and costs for parts is ridiculous .
03 grande v6 , with added stuff that makes it go places . RTFM people !

Here's my list on my ExtraCare warranty since July last year, front axle seals $750.00, alternator $420.00, proximaty switch for left door and crankshaft seal $335.00. My Prado gets used as a 4 wheel drive regularly so wear and tear is a bit higher then normal, never had a whinge from Toyota about doing the repairs under warranty.
