EGR blanking plate to block off or restrict?

A note from denso common rail service manual:
7.2 E-EGR System (Electric-Exhaust Gas Recirculation) (1) GeneralDescription
• The E-EGR system is an electronically controlled EGR system. The EGR system recirculates a portion of the exhaust gases into the intake manifold in order to lower the combustion chamber temperature and reduce NOx emissions.
However, operation of the EGR system may reduce engine power output and affect drivability. For this reason, in the E-EGR system, the engine ECU controls the EGR to achieve an optimal EGR amount.

Putting in the restrictor plate installs a maximum level of EGR without eliminating it completely, so there would be some EGR effect remaining. You are correct.
No.
However basic calculations Indicate there is still enough inert gasses to cool the combustion.

I raised a similar question about possible NOx emissions increasing with EGR reduction a while back.
My opinion is any increase of NOx by throttling the EGR is irrelevant anyway.
There is evidence about diesels with EGR systems that suggests they no longer meet NOx emissions standards once the engines have run in and loosened up. Manufacturers are well aware of this, and there are plans in place to restrict the lifetime of diesel engines on this basis.
This of course means forcing people to buy a new diesel vehicle more frequently in the never ending quest to make a buck!

If we all install this device, and it impacts NOX emissions, we would basically be doing something like what VW did. It would be a cheat device.
NOX is a significant issue. https://www.testoaus.com.au/blog/gas...ns--video-_314
Why should you care about NOx emissions?
Burning fossil fuels, including heavier fuels like diesel, produce lot of toxic gases such as nitric oxide & nitrogen dioxide, which together form the components of NOX. This is why governments enforce regulations to control emission levels.
Authorities pay close attention to these substances, because some of them are quite harmful to the environment and to health. Nitrogen dioxide is a respiratory toxin, and the US Environmental Protection Agency has identified a link between nitrogen dioxide exposure and hospital emergency visits.
As for the environment, nitrogen dioxide, in conjunction with sunlight, contributes to the development of the ozone. In addition, nitrogen dioxide can impair visibility and lead to eutrophication. Eutrophication occurs when aquatic algae populations grow exponentially, which decreases oxygen in water bodies. Additionally, NOX has a detrimental effect on polymeric material such as rubbers & plastics.
Clearly there are great advantage for the device in terms of engine life. How can we get the NOX tested?2008 D4D M6 GXL [MT ATZ-P3][Whitey's Ironman 45710FE/45682FE+KTFR101H/Dob487][extended Roadsafe links][Polyairs][DBA T3/T2][amts diffdrop & recovery points][Tin175's stone guards][Bushskins BashPlate][ARB Sahara][IPF 900s][Snorkel][WindCheetah][MaxTrax][IC-440][Parrot Asteroid][ARB Fridge][Lifestyle 2nd Row Fridge Mount][ARB Compressor][Thumper][SandGrabbers][Cargo Barrier][Tigerz Awning][MCC Rear Bar]

So lets reduce all other emissions
Including
Cleaner oil,
Longer lasting oil,
Better fuel economy,
Longer lasting engines,
Etc etc.....
Here we go agian blah Blah blah......

I don't know that one.
But get it tested before, because I'm told they fail.
If it passes before plate, imo it will pass after, because its an idle test, & at idle there is the highest percentage of inert gasses, still about 20%.
Volkswagen were really good. They did what they did for a damn good reason & I support. If people had it reversed, they are crazy. Sooooooootcake engine killer. Egr is a good idea for petrol engines, not diesels.

VW has been found out. They have been cheating and they are millions down the drain as a result. Probably billions. Fraud is never a good idea and there is no good reason for fraud.
Where do we get it tested? Surely there is somewhere that can test a prado for emissions?2008 D4D M6 GXL [MT ATZ-P3][Whitey's Ironman 45710FE/45682FE+KTFR101H/Dob487][extended Roadsafe links][Polyairs][DBA T3/T2][amts diffdrop & recovery points][Tin175's stone guards][Bushskins BashPlate][ARB Sahara][IPF 900s][Snorkel][WindCheetah][MaxTrax][IC-440][Parrot Asteroid][ARB Fridge][Lifestyle 2nd Row Fridge Mount][ARB Compressor][Thumper][SandGrabbers][Cargo Barrier][Tigerz Awning][MCC Rear Bar]

No, we want to test it, not can it.

I have been attempting to clean my egr but am not able to remove the nuts and bolts securing it, can someone let me know the trick?
I have searched the net and watched lots of youtibe clips but still have not been able to work out what I'm doing wrong. I can remove the valve and hoses but cannot get the elbow off. I am not able to slide it off the retaining bolts due to a big chunk of metal, bolted to the engine block, preventing it coming off.
Do i need to complete disassemble the engine or is there a special tool that is needed to access bolts?
Any help would be great as I have been attempting to clean the egr for weeks now.2010 GXL 150 TD, Auto, Graphite, ARB Bullbar, OME Suspension, Safari Snorkel, Coopers AT3
