So, I picked up a couple of cheap DRL's from Ebay the other week and got around to installing them today. At this stage they are just temporary. Famous last words.
Working out where to put them was the 1st thing to sort out. I decided that the 'grill' above the number plate of the sovereign bar was a good spot.
FYI this is not a legal fitting position as they need to be at least 600mm apart.
Found it
• The reference axis of the lamp must be parallel to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle (i.e. The lens of the lamp should be vertical to the ground and perpendicular to the direction of travel).
• The centre line of the lamp must be parallel to the ground.
• Lamp must be visible from 20° inboard and outboard, as well as from 10° above and below the horizontal axis.
• Two lamps are required for motor vehicles.
• Lamps must be mounted no less than 250 mm and no more than 1500 mm above the ground.
• Lamps to be mounted within 400 mm of the widest point of the vehicle and no closer than 600 mm together.
Well, I finally got around to taking a couple of shots of my revamped table. I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out, just have to see how it goes with the fridge slide pulled out. If my measurements are correct, I should be ok.
Got around to finishing my rear setup. Just wanted to keep it simple and have the fridge next to the drawer. It's bolted down via 4 bolts in the floor and 1 bolt to the drawer using a T nut. In the future I will be making up a bracket to lock it into the 3rd row seat latch on the right hand side.
78L ARB fridge sitting on an ARB fridge slide. I'll get it carpeted at some stage, but for the moment, black will have to do.
Apologies for the 1st photo, it's rotated correctly everywhere I view it except here.
Thanks Troy.
It is a hell of a fridge, a lot of room for beverages. Will be testing it over the next week with an interstate trip so I'll see what affect it has on the 2nd battery.
Forgive me Pradopoint, it has been 2 months since I posted.
So, the old girl just clocked up 200,000 k's. Still running beautifully.
Recently added a digital dual battery monitor in the centre console. Bought it off eBay and I think the buyer is a fellow Pradopoint member. Gotta say the item is top notch and the after sales service is beyond awesome. I had a couple of issues which were sorted out via a few emails with the seller.
This monitor just slots into one of the blanks with just a touch of filing.
Well after 5 years of ownership and 101,000km's it was time to fit some new tyres. I put the old BFG AT's on pretty much as soon as I picked up the prado in 2012, so to get 101,000km's out of them is a pretty good effort. I put the high mileage down to rotating all 5 every 5,000km's.
After ringing around a few dealers I jumped on to Tyresales.com.au and saw a bargain, BFG KO2 for $305 each. Thankyou, I'll take 5. They were shipped out to my local Tyre Plus within 2 days and I had them fitted this morning. The cheapest from a dealer was $315 and no-one could match the quoted $305. I'm really happy with the look and there is no noticeable noise around town.
Not as extroverted as some. I can think of 1 member of the SA group that isn't backward in coming forward
What's your thoughts on durability of these tyres? I remember the AT's chipped easily when I was in the Flinders when they were quite new, hoping this set doesn't follow that trend.
Hi "Dave"
The extra effort put in rotating the previous rubber has paid off , clicking over 100k..
Gold Star mate!
Hope you get similar figures from the new set.
Cheers
Tom
