Anyone fitted a Tigerz11 alloy roof rack?
I've asked Tigerz some basic questions and received some rather ignorant answers.
Q: Can you tell me the diameter of the top rail tubing please?
Is it a harder alloy than standard Aluminium? I wondering as to the effect
of 'tie down' strap tightening bending it all.
A: All the information we have on our products is on the website. We use
aluminium, the only aluminium there is. If you are planning to have heavy
loads or harsh conditions I would suggest getting a steel rack.
Also got these answer on another day and obviously from a different rep who might actually enjoy his job compared to the first one.
Q: What is the weight load capacity of this tray. I know my roof limit, but whats the tray rated at?
A: 80kgs - You can't walk on it.
Q: Are the gutter mount legs steel or alloy?
A: Steel
Q: If steel then how thick is it?
A: 2.5mm
Q: What does the warranty cover?
A: Warranty covers rust, break of welding - not bending
Q: Where the mesh sits on the cross members, is every intersection welded? (Thinking of rattles)
A: It is welded so there are no rattles, however sometimes the workers forget to weld all.
So, anyone got one? Any idea of the top tube diameter so I can see if a cargo net will clip on or not?
And do the tubes bend when a strap is winched across the top?
Not at all sure I even want to try one of these with the sort of answer from the first clown.
