Would love to take the credit for the idea but I stole it from pradopoint. AJ120 actually. He makes them (and pretty sure sells them). I liked the idea of spacers there rather than under the spring as it doesnt restrict the spring travel at all. Al ot cheaper than changing springs to a heavier rate aswell.

So I have finally made the change from alloy to steel, decided on a black TJM T13 Outback bar. The main reason was so I could fit a winch but also for security on the back roads. With the couple of dollars I got for the old bar and the cost of the winch cradle made the change over not too bad.
Managed to get a few pics of the process,

      Old bar rigged up

      Truck naked

With the old bar off I masked up guard and sprayed what you would see between gaurd and new bar black to try and hide the gap a little

      New winch and cradle mounted

New bar going back on. (was getting dark by now)

And a couple of all finished with my spotties and aerial all back on. (sorry about the quality, will take some better pics when I get a chance)

It has been a little while since my last update here. When I fitted the steel bar my 120 recovery points no longer would fit with the way the stone guard came down. I went down to TJM to see what they suggest to use, ended up using a set of recovery points for a 150/FJ which bolted straght on with the bottom bolt and the nut-plate and bolt for bullbar mount. It sits a little lower than the 120 point but dont see it being a problem. I also fitted a set of ARB under body protection plates that I got cheap.

Fitted a 3" pacemaker exhaust last weekend. I was ready for a big day with seized nuts and flange bolts but managed to undo the dump pipe nuts as well as the other flange bolts so made removing the old exhaust easy and the new one fitted just as easily. Did the whole job in about 2hrs.

Picked up a couple of work lights for the rear of the roof rack. I wired these to a switch in the cab so they can be used to reverse at night. I am real impresed with the light they put out.

I have also been adding switches as I add more things and now think I have enough to post a few pics of them.

And the panel on the right of the steering wheel I have turned 180 so the switches are on the top side as it makes them a little easier to see and less likely to hit with my knee while getting in and out. It took a little bit of triming to fit but nothing to hard.

I got a nice set of AJ120's rock sliders turn up on my door step this week. Managed to get them fitted today. Like everyone has said, they are realy easy to fit, have clear instructions and a perfect fit. Here is a quick pic of them fitted, I will try get some better shots tomorrow.

Also fitted a couple of Old Man Emu rear shock guards, hopefully they will protect the shocks from the gravel rash that they are prone to.

Finally got around to putting in a mount to hold my ipad so it is easier to use the hema maps. I decided on a seat bolt mount and am happy with it so far. The brand is Mobotron and brought from an ebay seller in the USA.

I have changed the 40ch uhf out with a new GME TX4500 80ch. Easy to change as the power and aerial were already there. Find it is alot better to hear as the speaker is on the front instead of being inside the roof console.

Do you have a link to that holder? This seems a neater solution than velcro-ing a folio/cover to the console which is what I was going to do.
