  • Biodiesel b5

Is anyone using shell diesel since it's turned into b5 . Ever since they have put the biodiesel tank in at work I don't think any of us drivers are game to use it whoever owns a diesel. The storage tank is heated and all the lines are heated to the gantry and then it gets injected to normal diesel. We cart diesel extra b5 and normal diesel b5 and some place still use normal diesel .

With some people having injector problems wonder if this stuff would make it worse .

Some of the united drivers are saying that united diesel is good it has nothing in it comes straight off the boat . I try to use vortex diesel or bp .

    Gday blkd4d

Question: Is anyone using shell diesel since it's turned into b5

Answer: YES! you are already using B5 its just that you haven't been told because the big refinery's don't have to tell you as long as it is no greater than 5% (B5) and complies! The other big names not advertising as everyone is selling B5!.... Its B20 that has to be advertised but it is mostly the truckies who use that.

Its been going on for long while....

I wouldn't worry about using 5% (B5) as it is harmless and if you look in your service owners manual (Not the owners manual as it would be too easy to find in there) it states What is not covered by new vehicle warranty!
Quote: Diesel engines: Damage caused by the use of biodiesel fuels greater than 5% (B5) and not conforming to the national diesel fuel standards EN590. Un-quote!

All vehicles or machinery that normally run on automotive diesel can use Bio B5 Diesel with no engine modifications. The Australian Diesel Standard specifies an allowance of up to 5% biodiesel content.

This will back-up B5 as you all have been running it for a lonnng time it just wasn't advertised..... http://www.environment.gov.au/atmosp...tion-paper.pdf

Read these three links below as well.

The old saying ring load! "What you don't know about, You don't worry about"..... This is probably also based on the fact of paying more money for cheaper fuel.. Especially when imported from Asia

    Cheers

Thanks for all that I know that it's been in nsw for a while and in qld and the percentage changes . Shell Newport Victoria has only just started using it I cart it they finished the instalation only in the last few weeks. Bp who do come into shell here and get diesel don't put the bio in yet and people can specify if they don't want it . Mccoles where I'm going normal diesel extra . Big shell I done earlier extra b5 would be a lucky dip if you are getting it and yes that's because no one has to say anything .
There are 5 Coles sites in Melbourne that don't have biodiesel ( at the moment) . Bp and caltex will follow.
