  • FJ rims on 120S

Ok so some guy is selling 5 fj cruiser wheels and tyres only done 500 km all in brand new. They are Dunlop grandtrek a22 265/70/17. He wants $1500. A few questions. Whats the offset, how will they fit (about 2.5cm tallerer I believe but I have a lift kit so should be fine). The look is not so cool but I need some road tyres while I use the old GXL 120s as my MT rims. So what do you guys think?, will they fit ok and is the price alright?

I've done some searching but found bugger all. I think FJ may be +15 offset but not sure?
2006 Prado GXL, Manual 6sd v6, ARB Bull Bar, ARB Air Lockers front and back, under bonnet compressor (obviously), Warn 9000Lb winch, Shit Spotties, ARB dual battery's, Bilstien Suspension lift kit all round, under-bonnet diff breathers, Engel and Hella rear plugs. .

I don't know the rules in the NT but if the same as most places you are allowed to increase track by up to 25mm. The standard 120 wheel offset is +30 so putting FJ wheels on would increase the track by 30mm. It will also put the wheels 15mm closer to the guard which I guess would be ok but you need to see whether it will foul on anything if you are happy with the +30 change to track.

Thanks mate, I have a GXL so i assume the track would be the same. It was the offset I was worried about. So my 120 GXT rims are offset 30+ and are you saying the FJ is +15

IMO they would have to rate as one of the ugliest wheels Toyota has ever put on a car - why would you?

Yes, that is why the wheels will be too wide. Read the thread I linked to. I quite like the 6 spoke FJ wheel they can get in the states.

                I disagree, really like them.
Think they would turn out looking similar to something a bit like this
2004 Prado GXL. v6 auto, ARB deluxe bar, exhaust, 2" EFS lift kit, Outback Acc rear bar,
rallye 2000 spots, roof mount dvd, dig_options stereo, toyota roof bars.
                More to come!

Yeah, but those are deep dished and polished, not the flat matte skinnies on the FJ.

They fit fine, I have them on my 120 and I think they look awesome.
They do increase your track but are still inside the guards.

I scored these 5 rims on ebay that are 12 months old and hardly used for $450.

Have put a set on my 2000 TX prado fit is fine, but the Offset is 15mm same as older Prados, 120 and 150's have great offset, but you can run the FJ 17's, they will just come out further, if you have a lift no probs. 265 tyres sit better on the 7.5" rims too.

You should have spent the money on a decent set of sliders.

                            Fj rims are +15 offset

Perfect for fitting a 285/70/17 tyre on them without scrubbing in the upper control arm

I reckon go buy them. Who gives a crap what these guys^ think its your car. Only 30mm track increase who cares
