Got my scoop fitted. Cost $1000 all up to paint scoop, cut hole and re-spray bonnet due to UV fading.
Where did you get scoop from mate? I'm up in darwin for a few more months and hoping to get an old matey at a panel shop to sort me out. Just need scoop and a box of coldies

Comes with the seal and bolts. Need to buy the nuts. The scoop doesn't perfectly flat on the bonnet (the hilux bonnet is different). You do need to make some modification.
These scoops look great. How do they go on dirt and bulldust , do you end up with a heap of dust in the engine bay and on the inter cooler ?
Thanks Matt

Considering this custom jobby over the Hilux. Yes it needs to be fitted, painted, unwrapped and properly positioned. Thoughts?
The fellas at Cross Country 4x4 did their magic today, very happy.

Oh, look at you with your fancy custom scoop. What - Hilux not good enough for you? Don't want to be like the others? Looks like you pinched the scoop off a 1960s Dodge Charger Bumble Bee. Looks tough though. Nice job.

Bugger Bali, get out and see Australia before we sell it all to China.
V8-D4D would be nice, and a lot less grief than the 4 cylinder little brother

Looking under the bonnet of the troopy I reckon the V8 will fit in width ways but there could be an issue with the overall length of the motor. You could do away with the mechanical fan and go all electric which might work. There's a late model LC V8 ute here for $10K. It's got some damage from tackling a bull but the mechanicasl are all good. That would be a good bargain starting point to get all the bits needed for a transplant into a Prado.
