Anyone tried out the new T2 or T3 slotted rotors from DBA?

I'm currently running the earlier version DBA 42700S slotted series along with Bendix 4x4 pads and more than happy with the on/off road performance over the last 30k. A machine and they're good for another lap or two. Passing these on to a mate who is a bit cash strapped at the moment and in need of a set to keep trucking.

Any feedback on the T2/3 appreciated.

About to put a set of T3's on the front with Bendix 4X4 pads in the next week or so. Will let you know.

        Cheers Phil.

BTW interested in where you buy the DBA's from. I recall the last set I got from Repco at around $30 below other competitors!

I got them from a mate who looks after me, not sure what the retail price is.

Mates rate has got to be better than the $275 ea I got quoted.

The T3's are selling as fast as DBA can manufacture them so I grabbed a set and fitted them today otherwise there's a 2 week wait. The previous DBA slotted I had we're the best, these T3's are a step up again. 32" muddies and the thing still stands on it nose.

Sounds like a good upgrade, what pads did you use and how did you bed them in?

                  Same here please,
Could I get the part numbers for the rotors and bendix pads everyone is using on the 120? I have a few weeks up my sleeve to wait now anyhow. Are people just doing the front upgrade?

                  Cheers

Sorry for the tardy response guys, been up at the caravan and camping show at Rosehill. If you go, drop in and have a chat with the Gall boys from Kedron vans, top blokes and guaranteed a laugh.

With replacing the rotors, I only did the front this time as the DBA slotted rotors on the rear were fine. I don't have part number for these and in any case they are superseded by the T2 & T3 series. The rear pads are Bendix DB1200/4wd.

I like to try different configurations and found Bendix pads to be great as an all-rounder. It's a personal preference but I found they are at least on par with the original pads for on-road driving. Where Bendix beats them is off-road particularly in a petrol auto and having to ride the brakes for steep declines. Yes, you manual diesel owners can look smug! Never had brake fade with the Bendix pads. After water crossings these pads seem to get braking performance back quicker then OE pads. Once used some aftermarket street performance pads which gave great on-road braking but once they were wet in water crossings off-road, I had to ride the brakes for at least 1 minute to dry and try to heat them up again. Live and learn!

The new front rotor fitted is a T3 DBA42700S. The previous versions of these (4000 series) had the same part no. but denoted by an L or R on the end as they were unidirectional. The new T3's fit either side. The front pads are Bendix DB1482/4wd. These pads have a Titanium stripe which they say does away with bedding in although I still prefer at least a few moderated stops in succession from 80kph. Helps to know everything is working!

I don't usually check that the calipers are working but found this time that the inside lower piston on both sides were sticking slightly. The pads were uniformly worn so it doesn't seem to have affected things. Used some brake cleaner which has freed them up. I don't know why the same piston though?

Finally got around to fitting the T3 rotors and Bendix 4X4 pads. Pretty straight forward job which took about 1.5 hours to complete.

They certainly feel better than the standard equipment, but I am still bedding in rotors and pads around town. Looking forward to trying them with the caravan on the back, but so far very happy with the change.

                      Cheers

Running T3 front and T2 rear . No issues with this setup I have. Been 6weeks and couldn't be happier. Was going for T2s all round but because of a mixup I managed to score the T3s at T2 price . Somehow T2s front got lost in transit and there was no t2 left so they gave me T3s.

Yep couldn't believe my luck. With the part number of the t3s at the front I believe it was 42700s not 100% sure.I rang Dba direct to get the right information. They were quite helpful , maybe give them a call.
