Hi all,
I was out driving on Thursday and after doing a fairly steep rocky section of track in 2nd low (high rpm) I stopped to put Tfr back in high range but couldn't get the selector past neutral. I was about 10k's south of Davies plain hut when it happened and tried to free the diffs the usual way and realized it wasn't the binding thing that is common with 4WD's. Ended up driving all the way home in low range stopping every half hr or so to let things cool down a bit and unwind the diffs. 5 hrs later made it home. Have spoken to a bloke who used to own a 120 series and he thought that there is a clip near the selector forks inside the transfer case that may have come off. Has anyone heard of or experienced this ?
I am just about to dump the oil and see if there is said clip floating around in there.
If so I will go ahead and remove transfer case and see if I can put it back.
Has anyone removed their transfer case, any pointers you can give would be great.
Cheers
Phil
