Hi all,
Firstly whilst i've been waiting for my Prado to arrive, I've kept a very close eye on this forum and gained many great ideas from the various contributions by everyone, especially since this is my first Prado.... so thank you!

So I finally got my Silver Altitude today (I'm grateful i didn't wait as long as some people have) and can't wait to add a few goodies and hit the road/tracks.

First step is to replace the Grandtreks tomorrow with Copper AT3's. Then i'll be adding a TJM T13 Bar, 2" lift, Airtek Snorkle, Milford Cargo Barrier, Toyota Tow bar and 210 Genesis lights.

What would be a good UHF to install?

I'll post some photo's once some progress has been made.

Welcome Aido - look forward to the build-up!

Im a GME fan when it comes to UHF though others may differ. Id suggest you call in and have a chat with Electric Bug in Torrens Road.

I got a GME 3540 which is a remote head all mounted behind the dash and I just plug in the mic when I want to use it, check my build up( link below) for photo's of the socket etc.

I have the same and very happy with the unit. Don't have the mic socket as nicely installed as Hutch though - currently hangs loose on the driver's side well - must look into that.

I've got the Icom 440n, again a remote head unit with all the controls in the mic. It is the second Icom I have had and couldn't be happier with it. I have some pics of the install which I will put up soon.

Icom 440 here, no regrets. My rig build has a neat fitment that can be adapted to a 150 no problems.

I called into the Electric Bug and i'm now all sorted with a GME 3540, thanks 120D4D. The AT's are on and i've just added the Sand Grabbers today, great fit and i'm sure they'll do the job nicely. About to order the T13 Bar and i'm going to put the 35W HID Genesis on the bar. When i've worked out how to add photo's i will...

Hi all,
Got the T13 fitted the other day, plus the airtek snorkle. Really nice job by the lads at Adelaide TJM. The snorkle has stopped the dreaded drone, i've only noticed a little increase in the wind noise near the "A" pillar from the addition. Also had the window tinting completed, i doubled up the tint in the cargo area and went 20% on the front side windows. Now to plan the next additions.

Hi all,
i've been adding some more additions, such as suspension lift kit (TJM XGS Gold), Rhino Rack pioneer platform, foxwing awning, recovery points and just purchase the dual battery kit from ABR. Can anyone provide me with some ideas where i can mount the fuse box in the rear cargo area, given the little storage area above the jack cover isn't available in the Altitude due to the sub being there. I was thinking about removing the jack and mounting it inside there somewhere, i've searched the forum with no luck? I'll add some photo's soon

Hi Adrian,
I've got the same problem with my Altitude, looking for a good spot for the fuse box.
Some on the forum have mounted it behind the wheel arc trim, but to get to it later you need to remove the rear seats and trim

I've decided to remove the jack, and make up a small plate to mount to the few fixing positions available in that recess, and mount the fuse box to that.
The VX 's and Kakadu's have the same issue, so look thru some of those build ups.

Hi all,
Today i tackled the install of the ABR rear cargo kit. Since i don't have the little storage area available i decided to remove the jack and mounted the fuse box and other related items on a small piece of plywood i cut to size. I'm pretty happy with the result given this is my first crack at anything like this?

I decided to mount the 12v plug and hella socket up on the wheel arch as there is not much room on the jack cover and if i put a draw system in later on, i can still access these points. I did however mount the volt metre and anderson plug on the cover.
Just waiting for my battery to arrive than I can wire up the engine bay and its all done!

Nice work Aido! I have the same bar on my silver pearl Kakadu but the panel between the lights/grille and the bar is black plastic with a slight grain (you might be able to make it out in my avatar pic). I'm not sure where the panel was sourced from or why the original silver bit wasn't used, looks OK though.

What is different in the Altitude compared to the GXL? I haven't seen them listed on any Toyota sites so I'm not familiar with this model variant.
