The part number for a 150 prado front strut is actually 24-125132 (BE5-H303) http://www.tmcmotorsport.com/Bilstei...cationList.htm, but it's a moot point because as you guys have pointed out, it's non-adjustable. I suspected that may be the case, but wasn't entirely sure because some of the sellers' websites show an adjustable shock.

I've sent Sonny an email and i'm keen to see what he has to say.

Andrew, what springs did you fit?

I've got Dobinsons C59-32 for the fronts. They're 2nd hand jobbies so if they start to sag, at least I have 4 circlip grooves to choose from for the spring seat. The Oz spec Bilsteins only has 3 but I'm not sure where the grooves are in relation to the US ones.

Andrew, very nice. Does the reservoir need to be at that level or could you lift it up above the shock to give it some protection from flying stones?

The reservoir can't go any higher as it will hit the body. I've also allowed a bit of clearance from the body seeing as the body moves a bit on the chassis. The reservoir is fairly high up though.

That plastic bag is me bagging the connector for the TEMS shocks. Haven't really found a spot for it so cable tied it to the hole in the sway bar bracket.

Prompt reply from Sonny. He recommends the 5100 series for the '07-'09 FJ Cruiser to match to the prado's, and that the 5160 series is something that is being trialled by andrew. IHe said that because the struts aren't specifically designed to fit a Prado, so they won't honour the warranty on the struts if the failure is deemed to be due to the shock not being suitable for use. Andrew, i'll be following you're feedback on the struts with great interest.

I saw that you haven't mounted the reserviour on the shock body. Is there not sufficient room for this?

                Mike,
So far the shocks are a perfect fit.

To mount the reservoir to the shock requires a separate bracket. As there is a perfect spot for it on the chassis and using the supplied bracket and hardware, there was no need for the extra expense for an additional bracket.
I've spent quite a bit of time under the chassis of a 120, 150 and FJ and see no reason why they wouldn't fit.

Andrew, can you tell me what groove you've put the circlip in?

2nd from the bottom. What springs are you using and what have you got installed at the front? That will determine which groove to use.

Did you get the same 5100?

The IFS shocks can be used also. They have an added bonus of running a larger shaft than the non IFS shock and are a little longer as well.
You can enlarge the hole for the top shock mount to fit them.
We have done this on a few 80's and 100's with great results.

My intention is to use the Dobinsons 2" lift springs.

I'm just looking at an order through TruckSpring. 5100 adjustables in the front, 5100 in the rear, $357 plus $97 postage. It's an extra $235 if i want the 5160's. I understand they may give me an extra 1"-1.5" on articulation but can't see the value in it for me because i don't drive on the bumpy stuff much.

Did your kit come with a reservoir mount or a chassis mount?

Mine came with the chassis mount. The billet clamps are extra.

$454 Sounds pretty cheap for front and rear Bilsteins! Is this link the right part numbers to suit our 150's? I just selected to suit 2011 FJ cruiser.

                              http://www.truckspring.com/suspensio.../bilstein.aspx

Part#: 24-187558 for the front and 24-187541 for the rear?
                              Cheers,
