  • Prado 150 Transfer Case & Actuator Guard (TG150) and 120 Transfer Case Guard (TG120)

After reading the post from member thswyup about when he broke his Actuator (http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread...059-Busted-150) we had a look under our own vehicle's to have a identify the vulnerable Actuator Assembly. After seeing its location and position we decided to get a guard fabricated for this area as there were no known available guards. At this stage we have designed the guard, fabricated a prototype, tested the prototype making a few design enhancements. We are going into production next week (19/03/2012) as I already have 6 vehicle requesting the guards.

NOTE: We are not a Business just two members on the site that went about trying to make a functional Actuator Guard.

If you are interested please send me a PM with your request.

ITEM: TG150 - 150 Transfer Case cover with Actuator Guard
    CONDITION: Brand new - Fabricated
REASON FOR SELLING: Make available a reasonably priced solution to protect the Actuator (black rectangular box at rear of transfer which is exposed) .
    PRICE AND PRICE CONDITIONS: TG150 (150 Prado) - $180
(deposit requested to confirm your order) we have had increased cost with laser cutting, steel, welding.
    EXTRA INFO:
    - Attached to vehicle utilising 4 current bolts where the OEM protector plate attaches as well as 2 more bolts into rear of Transfer guard;
    - open design to allow air flow around transfer case and actuator, to also minimise any build up of debris (which could get caught in a box design.)
    - The Actuator Guard will suit vehicles already fitted with aftermarket bash plates as our guards mounting is independent of other plates.
    - powder coated 3mm steel,
    - colour: satin black.
    - ETA for Pickup or postage would be sometime during week ending 23/03/2012 (will update exact date when known)
See below for photos of our prototype and rendered diagrams.
LOCATION: Brisbane, QLD - Warner or Cashmere FREE PICKUP.
POSTAGE: Postage, Packaging and Handling will include bubble wrap, boxing and postage and will be at the cost to package and send to certain locations. (we are in the process of looking at best priced options for sending this item.

We are looking at an initial production run of 20-30 to try and keep costs down. Let me know if you want to do all the vehicles at once or do them in stages. That way we can make sure we can meet your demand. Send me a PM with your requirements.

          Regards
          Paul

I'm interested in the 150 transfer case guard. Though first I'm going to ask a silly question, have these been checked for fit on both autos and manuals? Mine is a manual but I know the autos make up the vast majority. Any idea on expected dates when these will be ready?

            Cheers,
            Dave.

Have the final design sorted tonight so a small tweak to the drawing then off to laser cutters, then folding, welding and sandblasting and powder coaters. Realistically allowing for timings we should have the first ones the week 19th - 23rd March. Already have more than 10 allocated.
Keep watching will be posting some photos once I have the production sample back. Once I have this I will check fit both the auto and manual. I'll be in touch.

Here are some photos of the 120 prototype. The production model has had a few changes and will be finished off in satin black powder coating.

Thanks for the use of your Prado, Fozzy.

This will also fit a FJ Cruiser.

                          Hi Trev

Was the decision assitsed by the drive at Glasshouse when only Petrol 150's had a go at the difficult track and made it

See ya on the tracks, Richo.
