    Daves 150 GXL

    Probably a little premature, but I'm bored. No pictures yet, hopefully by mid next week there will be something to show. My car, a manual D4D GXL 150 in Silver, is almost ready to pick up. Due to a delay with the local ARB store it looks like the only things it will be fitted with on delivery are a Toyota tow bar and window tint, hardly earth moving mods I know. In a couple weeks it will go in to have the ARB Deluxe winch bar fitted along with a Safari snorkel. I've also just bought a Tigerz11 12000lb, 2 speed winch to go on the bar.

    Mods to come:

    * Lightforce modded XGT's - 70W hid "flamethrower"
    * Dual batteries, undecided on the final setup but probably based on redarc's ultimate set up
    * Mickey Thompson tires, either ATZ 4 ribs or MTZs, probably MTZs
    * 2 inch suspension lift, brand undecided
    * sliders
    * UHF

    Got to pick my Prado up today! Here she is just after leaving the dealership.



    And about 100kms later.





    I was a little disappointed there was no mud around so had to settle for a little articulation instead. Will head out and find some tracks tomorrow. Bring on the mods!

      Nice one Dave, we just finalized the mods on ours today, bring on March.

        Good stuff. I've got a fortnight to wait till mine gets the bar and snorkel fitted, then I'll bring it home and fit the winch and lights, that'll probably do me for a little while.

            I like it Matt. Took a bit to get used to which gear I needed and when I needed it. Coming from a manual XR8 Falcon to 4cyl diesel I expected a little adjustment

            I'm fairly impressed with the car so far, looking forward to getting it offroad and seeing how she goes.

                  had an 03 gx 120 with some gear now got a 2013 bt 50 GT auto some ARB gear.

                            Stuck my sticker on the rear window this morning:

                            Touched a side step on the way down so wasn't too keen on climbing back up the same track, found another way out instead:



                            All in all, I'm fairly impressed so far. It seems to maintain traction even when you think it shouldn't. I can definitely see some sliders in her future though, surprised at how easily the stock side steps bottom out.
