  • Tested the aerial, all good. Had a few roadside chats with coppers and no issues with the Prado set up.

I guess my next big mod will be most likely a winch around Christmas time...

    • This lighting set up really did 'shine' last night. I was on a twisty country back road last night that was loaded with Kangaroos and I had zero lighting / visibility issues. I can't wait to see how it goes once I eventually fit a big lightbar across the roof. This isn't a priority for me, but I will get there down the track.

      • Quick question Matt - what colour are your Lightforce spotties?

Based on your pics - I presume you haven't touched your low / high beam colours and they would be somewhere around 3000-3500 mark.....

Obviously your LED bar is 6000k, by the looks of it your spotties are the same?

How do you find the mix of colour? Do you get blinded by signs etc?

Seems like people prefer the 4300k mark for HID's upgrades (less reflection), but it seems impossible to find an LED bar at 4300k....

All stock standard Lightforce 6000k Genesis HID. You are right about the signs reflecting back badly. Doesn't bother me.

          • After a roadside chat during a RBT test recently. I was greatly encouraged to fix my flickering park lights in my ARB bullbar. I bought a kit from ARB Newcastle on Friday arvo for $91. The change out is pretty straight forward to handle, just drop your wing plates for access.

I made up the new harness buy soildering connecting the old ARB one with the new one and wrapping it in harness flex.

Here's what the stock set up looks like -

Old and new, with old and new harness connected and ready to go in -

            Easy to fit -

            • While at bunnings today getting a few bits for my upcoming trip I found this perfectly sized water bottle for my 150. It fits perfectly into the door pocket drink holder and the center drink holder. Capacity is 800ml and BPA free (I think that means it won't taste like plastic in a week) and it was about $9.

                      • With just two weeks left till our trip, I am slowly ticking off all the little things I have to organise. Got most things sorted out now, just have to change oil in the engine and pack the car.

                        • Just did a quick measurement average across my five tyres. Brand new depth was 12.6 mm (per Cooper website specs), after 32,000 kms I'm averaging 9.5/10mm depth across the set of five. Guess I'm gonna hit the 80,000 km life I budgeted for ! Yay ..

                          • Run from home up to Coffs Harbour today fully loaded and camper in tow. Never saw exhaust temp any higher than 500 degrees and averaged 13litres per hundred clicks.

Very happy with my set up.

                            • I'm in love with my 150. Just towed my off road camper to about 1000 Kms with about 55 Kms of wandering about minus the camper. My set up is just under 4 tonnes, car and camper set up. So I'm really impressed with my fuel burn averaging 13 liters per hundred, considering my engine mods and the external mods to the Prado itself. The EGT maximum was 540 degrees, and was a hot day today.

Here is today's towing home, and I came home a faster way, saved about 45mins but burned alittle more diesel. The tank was full when I left Coffs Harbour.
