    Thinking about going with different offset rims, or maybe as Scniff mentioned the light racing upper control arms which will actually correct the camber back to factory setting(when u install lift kit top of tyres lean inwards a bit), or both just have to convince the boss! haha

    Not sure if changing the uca's will void waranty i am guessing yes?

    I was going to go with the MTZ'S but i am doing alot more sandy,beach driving and these are heaps better for that, i am actually surprised how agressive these look in this size.

      My latest thoughts are wider offset et20 rim and 285 70 17 tyres. Has anyone attempted this successfully? If it works, I will have my GXL rims and Goodyear Wrangler 265 70 17s up for grabs.

          I have been doing some research and have confirmed the following.

          05+ hilux, fj, and prado 120 and 150 share the same UCA, i have been talking to monster rides and i can get their UCA (which is heaps better then the spc ones from the states) to try and fit to make sure and if they dont will get a refund and pay just for shipping.

          I just have to get rid of my pro comp muddies to pay for them

          Also saying that i have hit a few tracks in last couple of days and the suspension has seemed to level out, the front hardly even rub at all now, only just when holding it hard on full lock, i am very happy about that!

          But will still most probably get different UCA's for better wheel alignment and for suspension travel.

            Thankyou for all of your effort & information to date.

            What I find strange is that ARB have a Prado with 275 x 70 x 18 MT ATZ 4 ribs which are an even bigger tyre.

            It is the white one featured in their ads.

            I know this because I specifically rang and asked them.

            Do you think the KM2's would be a better fit as their shape is rounder & not as square edged as the ATZ 4 rib?

            ARB's 50mm lift is reported to be closer to 60mm maybe this is the difference.

            Sam from ARB can you provide any info on this topic?

              hmm maybe because the upper spec prados have the kdss suspension and 18 inch rims maybe the offset is different on the 18's
              and suspension components will be slightly different due to kdss set up.

              I havnt looked into what specs the 18 inch wheels are etc, maybe the km2's would be different but at $510 a tyre pretty pricy, got my 4ribs for $420 each

                just looking at specs and pretty sure 285/70r17 are wider than 275/70r17 thought the 18's do have a bigger diameter



                LT285/70R17 reqires a 7.5-9.5 rim 833mm diam

                LT275/70r18 require a 7.0-9.0 rim 846 diam

                  Thats one of the reasons I am pursuing this thread.

                  Can get the BFG's for $460 + the tyre mob will give me $150 + for new originals.

                  This will offset tyre purchase significantly.

                  Another option is the new MT STZ's in 275 x 70 x 17 although I would prefer a more aggressive tire.

                    well just trial fitted 33" procomp muddies on a 17x8 steel rim with a p13 offset and at full lock they just touched the rear mud guard on the front. easy fix
                    150 prado V6, yokies 32"s, bullbar, towbar, 2" lift, snorkel, diff breathers, e.r.p, winch, 14"s of lcd...hummm now what

                        Have you got a contact for Monster Rides? Their website has been under construction for months now and their old phone number belongs to someone else. Are they still in business?

                            Thanks, I've been considering some SPC Light Racing UCAs and would be interested if a local product was available. For what it's worth, I was told that the Prado 150 suspension was closer to FJ Cruiser than Prado 120, so maybe the SPC LR UCAs could also fit the 150 series:

                              Something to consider is that the uniball ball joint of the monster rides uca will require maintenance and will not last as long as the conventional sealed ball joint on the SPC unit. It will offer better travel however.

                                Hey Schniff im with you i would rather get something from oz if a can, Max from Monster rides has had his on his hilux with 35,s for a year and never had a problem.

                                He has fitted their hilux UCA'S to a prado 120 and said the 120 and 150 are the same just have to sell my old tyres and will find out, ow yea.
