I asked my tyre guy & specifically asked about the upper control arm & he said they would clear.
Apparently he has fitted a few Prado's with 285 x 70 x17.
SteelB - what lift do you have?
Any idea where you think the rub?

Here we go,
On my prado front rub on mudflaps at full lock but a little trimming will fix that.
Also do rub slightly on upper control arm at full lock other wise fit well.
I installed 1/4 inch wheel spacers which stopped rubbing on control arm but resulted in slight steering wheel wobble at speed, so i removed them.
Different offset rims would also fix this, spare tyre was spaced out using square tubing bracket i made that goes between the door and original wheel carrier bracket, tyre has about 5mm clearance for rear bumper
lift kit used was tough dog big bore nitro gas shocks and heavy duty king springs all round.
i am 100% happy with the lift and will sort the rubbing issue out in due time.
Will post some comparrison picks next to a standard prado soon, cheers

I will have a look around, I'm guessing the suspension is the same as the fj? As there is a huge market in the states for the new Toyota fj as it has been out for a few years over there and I believe they have the same chassis and suspension amongst other things as the 150 prado? Anyone know?

The uca is common to fj, 4runner, Tacoma, hilux and120 prado. The part number of the genuine parts is different between 120 and 150 but I have a 120 uca off a wreck and am buggered if I can tell the difference. The light racing arms have a conventional sealed ball joint which eliminates maintenance unlike other joints. The spc ones are also the cheapest I could find.
