If you use the Next / Previous button you might be able to see other gear, winches, cteks etc.

I don't think you have to have shopped there before - I haven't bought anything just on their mailing list after the brissy 4x4 show a while ago. I think you just comment on the blog (or give them a call) to register your interest.

PS. I have no affilation to these guys - just thought there was a possibility for some PPer's to save a few dollars.
    Thanks BigDog,

I have contacted them and got a great quote on a suspension kit. Just waiting to confirm which springs have been quoted on and freight etc.

    Thanks again,

No worries will do, thanks BigDog.

For the record, with approx 80lt in petrol tank and 60lt in (rear) LPG tank, the measurements (bottom of rim to guard) I have at the moment are:

        730mm front
        768mm rear

Sorry for the delay in replying but have been on a houseboat for a holiday.

We will be leaving 23rd June at this stage.
No I do not tow a camper but have a Roof Top Tent which I find great for the trips I've done.

The highway will be a challenge for the suspension

                Flagg,

Did you end up getting the EFS kit - how much lift did you get and how are you finding the ride??

                  Hi BigDog,

Ok I have finally got around to fitting the kit after giving the brakes a big birthday and other long term maintenance. I fitted the rear springs and shocks myself and had my local Goodyear fit the front springs and shocks as it was going to need a wheel alignment anyway. (I also wasn't letting my el-cheapo toy spring compressors mess with 800lbs front springs either!)

We have done about 200 klms on it this week so has settled in. Ride is firmer, more responsive but not too harsh. I was worried that the fronts would be too heavy (I went for the HD springs as I have a bullbar and 90amp/hr dual battery and have ordered full set of AMTS bash plates). I have just dropped the tyre pressures down from 38psi cold to 34 psi to soften it a little too. I am sure that will help a bit. Bear in mind that it runs around empty 95% of the time. Cant wait to see how it goes loaded with saddles, gear and 2 tonne of horse float and horses to tow, or our old 1200kg caravan.

Heights - I am really happy with the increase, pretty much as specified:

                  LHF 730 - 786
                  RHF 730 - 786
                  LHR 768 - 816
                  RHR 768 - 820

The EFS kit is a 40mm increase so accounting for about 15-20mm sag in the front with std springs (from a bar and dual battery) it is spot on. Same with the rear, it was about 10mm under new standard height with the old springs. LHR measurement is a bit lower probably from the full fuel tank (on left side). I filled both petrol and LPG tanks and took measurements in the same trim as before the lift so no variances.

It drives nice and the wife (who drives it most of the time) cant notice much difference in ride so that tells you it isnt too bad.

Overall a bargain, thanks so much for the link to Kilkyne campers - the service was good and kit delivered on time. $823 + freight. I spent $165 for labour to fit the front springs and shocks and wheel align. All up about $1000. Great deal.

                  Cheers, Brett

Paid a $1000 for mine and fitted myself over a few hours. Very happy so far but do find the rear end does appear to sit higher than the front now. The sidesteps look even but the gap between the tyre and rear guards look much higher than the fronts.

Would like to bring the front up another 1/2" somehow....

Overall... Happy with the extra clearance and ride.

Hi there VeeZee, isnt there a spacer you can use that goes between the strut coil and the housing to increase ride height ?? Not sure if there would be any issues with brake lines etc.....Cheers Steve

Those strut top spacers lift the front end by increasing the entire length of the strut, adding to both the open and closed dimensions of the strut. The danger with these is if you increase the closed length of the strut to the point where the strut bottoms before the front bumpstop is reached, you risk destroying the strut: http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread...l=1#post295569

The EFS front strut is already one of the longer struts at 560mm open and 432mm closed: http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread...nsion-Database so the maximum I suggest is a 10mm strut top spacer for 2 reasons:
1- At 442mm closed length, you are nearing the limit for the bumpstop. At closed lengths of more than 445-450mm the bumpstop will need to be extended.
2- At 570mm open length, you are close to the physical limit of space between the upper and lower control arms. A strut longer than 580mm will probably be too long to fit.

The good news is that a 10mm spacer should gain you 20-25mm lift, but the strut needs to be dis-assembled to fit longer studs to the strut tops (the 25mm and 35mm spacers do not need strut dis-assembly, but are too long for the above reasons):
                            http://store.snakeracing.com.au/~snakerac/product_info.php?cPath=3_107_424&products_id=3748& osCsid=ae1283ebe0c70a3f5ac44c8bacda1a9d

A 5mm spacer should give you 10mm lift, without the need to dis-assemble the strut: http://www.superiorengineering.com.a...oducts_id=7842

Poly spacers or trim packers are the same as simply fitting longer springs as far as the lift is achieved. The strut needs to be dis-assembled to fit them, the same as if you fitted new springs but without the cost. Other strut brands achieve the same outcome with an adjustable spring seat of various designs, like Bilstein, Ridepro, Lovells, Ironman and Icon to name a few.

Spring spacers can also be made of steel like these ones: http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread...l=1#post274521

You lost me at the open and shut part lol.. I have no idea on this stuff only what I have read and seen on here or general talk. Ive also heard that anything with IFS is suppose to be lower in the nose then the rear end. I think I read that in 4wd action magazine, again only what I have read, think this had some thing to do with steering ?? will see if I still have the magazine, probably thrown it......Cheers Steve

That's right Steve, the Prado should be about 20-30mm higher at the back than the front when measured from bottom of rim to guard.
