  • EFS Suspension

I have just spent ages searching and couldn't come up with anything on here about EFS suspension lifts so apologies if I have missed it.

Does anyone have EFS suspension and care to comment on it. I have now been to 2 separate 4wd specialists in brisbane assuming I would go with Kings/Bilstein combo for a 2"lift and they have both reccomended I go with EFS as they think it is every bit as good as the Kings/Bilstein combo except cheaper and comes with a better warranty.

I am not so much concerned with price (within reason) as much as getting the right suspension to suit my needs.

Any thoughts or opinions would be much appreciated.

I've got Efs on mine. For me it came down to the warranty offered and it was inside my budget.
I have no complaints about it so far- and it's been about a year...

Probably the only down fall is if you do remote travelling and say a shock goes kaput or spring breaks, then getting one to you may be an issue ?? I dont know there warranty setup where as say OME will get one to you no matter where you are ?? again this is their promise. I have always had OME and not sure what your cost is in EFS but you can get the OME for roughly $1600 some times a tad cheaper just have to shop around as I did with both my last 95's, saved myself $300 just by making a few phone calls. I have never needed any OME replacements so cant comment wether their word stands on getting a part to you in the middle of no where, maybe the closest town I would imagine but again I havnt needed to use their warranty so cant comment on it............Cheers Steve

Fair enough, what sort of lift do they give you ?? OME will generally give you more then the 50ml they say, most seem to be getting between 50 and 85ml.............Cheers Steve

EFS state 40mm for their lift but the sales guys reckon I will get about 50mm to 60mm.

I have EFS on my 120 and had them on my 100 too. My ride is a little softer than D4D's who has the OMEs with narder springs.

I wouldn't go with anything else now. I don't see the additional 15% for OMEs and from what I hear, the warranty is prompt and no questions asked. (Never had occassion to call in the warranty).

Dragonfly238, if you don't mind could you take your front and rear height measurements for me. I am well aware that what the sales guys say and what you actually end up with can be 2 very different things so would be good to know what heights you actually got.

You rarely hear any complaints about Bilsteins.

We have rallied them, off road raced them and in our 100series. Never had a failure other than snapping the rose joints off the top in the buggy but that was down to poor buggy design.

Ive been keen for a set of EFS on mine. Had them on my last 4runner and never had a problem with them. X country 4x4 in adelaide quoted around $1650 for the medium duty spring set up, fully installed. Just need to save some coin for it. I think the warranty wins me over too..3 years

The local TJM quoted me $1500 installed the other day for EFS. ARB quoted me $1700 for OME. Not much difference in price but for me OME is a known item.

I did a fair bit of looking around and asking questions and was in the process of pricing up EFS as that is what i decided to install. Again the warranty was a factor.
Just so happens that while searching for prices i managed to get a set of Bilstiens for a great price and then my mechanic got the Kings for trade price
So i ended up with a King/Billy combo installed for about $1100

Sure mate - just so we are on the same page - measure from tyre to wheel arch or length of spring?

Bottom of rim through hub to wheel arch, if that makes sense? The same as in the Suspension Measurements 2 thread.
                              Thanks heaps.
